Now the good stuff...Jack's Joker was good, but never a true interpretation of the character. Ledger on the other hand turned it up several notches and quite possibly will overcome Darth Vader as the greatest movie screen villain of all time. Ledger delivered a gut wrenching, oscar worthy performance and is simply the best.
I agree but I've never been a big Star Wars fan (still love Darth Vader) and I don't know if the movie Joker will be that great. Comics Joker is THE greatest villain of all time, though.
Jack's Joker was a good incarnation and interpretation, but I felt at times it was Jack being Jack, and not the Joker. His performance was definitely enjoyable, but not too Joker esque. Ledger's Joker was closer to the earlier version of the Joker, who kicked Batman's ass regularly...with no dirty tricks. I love that Ledger's Joker was never afraid to get physical and loved pain...which is another advantage of Ledger's Joker over Jack's. Jack's couldn't even get a simple punch in and was scared to die whereas Ledger's Joker was borderline suicidal...or at least fascinated with the idea of someone worthy like Batman or Dent killing him.
