He was, but not in Clone Wars.

And then again, both of them were involved in Indy4.... so what does that tell ya?

Lucas is all corrupting?

like they did with starship trooper?

Thats Paul Verhoeven.

That's not what I meant. They followed the same troopers in the Starship Troopers animated series, someone suggested they should do that for The Clone Wars too.

i'd have to agree. during the pre rots clone wars, they had that ordo (i think it was) led team of the special forces clones, and they were awesome.

regular clones (like cody and alpha) would make the series much better imo...

still want jedi, though...

There is no post ROTS Clone Wars....

Alpha (EU) is not a regular clone. He's an ARC. This whole line of what is ARC and what is ARC trained is blurred between ROTS, the Gendy Series, and This one. One of my infinite problems with this era is no "Clone Canon" has ever been created. All the various types of media have been created their own variations. However, I believe Cody called Rex "Sir" and since Rex is a captain and Cody is a Commander/Field Marshall, I would think that would denote that they are following the Gendy series and denoting a pauldron/kamas as ARC. Course, Bly and the Boys of the 327th also wear pauldrons and kamas in this series and ROTS, but Bly is never defined as an ARC trooper in any series.

Cody and Alpha are not regular clones. They are officers. If you want real military SciFi (the genre that Heinlein and Starship Troopers canonized), you follow a solider, not the brass. This series has actually attempted that in Rookies and Innocents and been successful imo.

And the Jedi will always be there. The point is they should be background characters as the clones are treated in the films and two Clone Wars series. (with the exception of a few episodes). The first and middle part of Innocents demonstrates this perfectly and its why I think its the best episode this series has yet produced.

i meant in terms of release date, which there was.

i never said he was a regular clone. i actually said special forces, denoting non-regularness... 😛

i'm going by the comics, when alpha led clones in to battle alongside the jedi. could have it mixed up, though, as it was a while back...

and i was just talking in vague terms. i wasn't being in any way specific. i fully support the idea of following frontline troops like in starship troopers...

i'd still like to see jedi-centric episodes. not as many as usual, but i don't want them relegated to background status in every single episode...

also, i loved Inoocent of Ryloth because it managed to have BOTH a clone story, and some obi-wan where he wasn't being forced to f*ck up just to make anakin look good...

fail 😛

You said Ordo was Special Forces, which he really wasn't, but I wont discuss him because he's REALLY EU...as opposed to some of this other stuff.

...but I love him.

Obviously.

you're taking me far too literally, silly 😛

when i said regular clones, i meant as opposed to jedi, who aren't regular. regular clones = any clone.

the guys who went to Hypori didn't come across as standard clones, though. that was Ordo, right? Or did i get my names mixed up. i'm not good with their names...

I take things literally unless I know people are tying to be funny. To me, regular clones mean basic troopers. No additional rank or specialty training. Whitejobs.

In the Gendy series, the red ARC Trooper was Captain Fordo. Ordo is a Null ARC that only appears (to my knowledge) in Karen Traviss' work.

Canon wise, the only specialized forces are Republic Commandos. I guess we can infer from the specialized armor in ROTS there are further designations (Marines, Airborne, Recon, Assassin, etc). If you add in half-canon like the Clone Wars and The Clone Wars series...you can add ARC troopers to that list.

yup...

QUite a lot of clones.

Hell yes. There are more too. Its nice that the clone wars is hitting the battalions, corps, and legions we saw in the movie.

more the merrier, i say...

kark yeah

Hehehe

The new trailer for Season 2 has come out, might stimulate thoughts here.

We've been discussing such...

My brief thoughts: I dont liek the idea of a Kenobi love interest, but at least she critiques the Jedi. I think that it could work well if they use it to show what a facade the Jedi order is.

Things I do like? Mandalorians. The scene where it looks like Padme is cheating on Skyguy. The Catacomg sequence with the Geonosians looks good as well. Hopefully they are taking a page from Republic Commando.

Negatives? Ki Adi is the only new Jedi shown. He had dialogue in the prequels, but we couldn't find anyone else? Luminara, Fisto, and Koon are all back (good) but other than that...!? Also, shoing Geonisis would be cool, but it seems like an awkward flashback.

The main flaw? Its really become apparent this series is not about the stories and characters we didn't see in the prequels. Its still about Anakin and Kenobi with Ashoka thrown in here and there...not good imo.

if you go by EU obiwan already had a love interest. she died in the clone wars.
