It's teaching what abstinence IS, not telling kids they SHOULD do it. Kids have a right to know ALL sexual options available and that it's ok to use any of them if that's their choice and it's done safely.

Teaching abstinence would be teaching what it involves so that if a kid WISHES to become abstinent themselves, they can. It's not a matter of forcing kids to do it, just like you're not forcing kids to have sex by teaching them about it.

What I find interesting is that they are now denying press requests to speak to her unless the press show deference to her.

Is she that weak and fragile? What would she do in a foreign relations situation? Tell the leader of the other country she won't speak to him unless he's nice to her?

Frankly if I was the McCain campaign I wouldn't be revved up for the next interview either. She didn't pass with flying colours.

Though having now watched more of the ABC Gibson interview; it was quite clear from the outset that no quarter would be given. However comparing the mannerisms, camerawork, questions and editing to Gibson's other candidate interviews it's quite easy to empathize as to why a Rasmussen survey found a majority thought the media were trying to damage Palin; and that 70% think that the media try to help the candidate they want to win. A recent NYT headliner I read through seemed far more editorial than it should have been.

The press are doing themselves no favors, with regards to their own credibility; and ultimately I think they're the ones losing most in this campaign.

Other than the praying for the oil pipeline; which is frankly just odd, I'm not seeing the fuss... the Iraq comment has been relatively mischaracterized... it seems like something that could be said by most anyone in most any church in the US...

She most definitely lacks depth of knowledge on foreign policy besides McCain campaign talking points, which should probably be noted can be a common feature for Governors, and that should definitely be pressed upon. But these other things, her pregnant daughter, her Church, seem like distractions...

On the whole I don't see her as ready to be President, but then she's not running for President.

Not specific things she said, her form and mannerisms, just not appealing for the 2nd leader of the "free world".

Then again, I do shoot myself in the foot, we have had 8 years of a stammering cowboy.
