I've seen/heard this touted by the Right to the point of vomiting. I get it, she's a mother, guess what, she isn't the only one.

And far as this nomination being a disaster for McCain's bid, it's a bit early to say it is or isn't.

I agree

Palin says: "Hi. I'm a woman with a pregnant teen daughter. We're pro-life and we have the same problems as much any American."

Much any American says: "Wow. My teenage daughter is pregnant, too."

Palin says: "She's a godless whore."

I guess they can't worry about the ticket being too liberal.

And still I see no source. You know there are a lot of people who are spreading lies, how do you know that someone has not lied to you?

If true, the response from the Right will be something like:

"she was young, she made a mistake, what real American can't relate to that" / spin.

Well yeah, but in fairness, she was young, she made a mista....

Dang. 😒:

In all fairness, that's true though. Your parents instilled their view of morality and right & wrong into you when you were growing up, but that doesn't mean they can control you're every move. If you go and rob a bank, it's not their fault and it doesn't mean they were bad parents or that they somehow messed up, or they should take the blame for every bad thing you do. Same principle with Palin's daughter; just because she's pro family values doesn't mean every single one of her kids will hold the same viewpoint. And 17 isn't a "kid".

Nice to see you're back from banishment.

She's done speaking...

40 mins, a Presidential Nominee speech...

I probably don't agree with any of her policies... and the accuracy of some parts were questionable... but she does give a good speech.

Same here. It was a very, very strong speech.

I was referring to the accusation of Palin being pregnant before marriage. If that's true, the Right will spin it, imo.

Her daughter being so isn't really a scandal per se to me, I just find it funny that she can't keep her own house in order in regards to the very thing she (supposedly) preaches about.

Thanks, appreciate that.

She wasn't playing around. Her speech was good.

Missed it, I'll have to youtube it tomorrow.

The question now, how will she stand up against Biden in the debates.

Depends on how quick a study she is and how well she does off the cuff. I'm not sure how many commentators have noted it, but I think this speech was better than Biden's last week.

On things like Biden's strong suit, foreign policy, essentially all she has to do is hold her own and the Republicans can probably consider it a victory.

Bush 41 was basically a drunk... so I wouldn't be surprised.

With this though an easy spin is that she may not have held such religious views and/or policy positions as a youth, she didn't want the same thing that happened to her happen to her children (which of course now has happened), etc. etc.

Frankly it doesn't seem a big deal to me, she has been with her husband for like 20 years now; and I doubt the campaign will use this as an issue, I'm not sure how well insinuating she's Slutty S. McSlut would play.

I think if she is prepared she will be fine. And I don't think Biden will go hard on her
