The BV-50 skims lightly across the southern walkway. Its red snsors glow menacingly, before it rises up and unleashes its gatling guns on Jovan and Wentar!
Being light guns, they get +2 dice, giving it a base pool of 14. Jovan's defences reduce that to 11. It gets a second attack at 9 dice on Wentar. Hundreds of red laser bolts fly out from it! Though you defend yourselves well, and damgae is not heavy.

Xeth, you may remember that it is all a matter of ratios. You count the strengths of both sides in an area and we work out the relative values- evens, or 3:2, 2:1 and so on. A simple d6 roll then decides how the fight goes for that round, but the ratio effects the possible results on the dice. At evens, 1-3 favours the defender whilst 4-6 the attacker. If it is 3:2 in favour of the attacker, then the 3-6 result will favour him, and so on.
Jovan and Wentar move in!
The BV-50 sprays them wuith fire as they approach, this time switching its primary target. It does rather betetr this time, scoring seven damge on Wentar and four on Jovan.
Jovan attacks! He's on three dice, tow of which socre hits... but are reduced to zero by the shield. This thing moves with immesne sideays speed, Jovan, buzzing several feet to one side at almost Jedi speed. Your attack gets caught in its shield and does nothing.
Wentar times a better attack with a Block tap. He is on 7 dice... and rolls three successes... just short! You come within an inch of it, Wentar, before it darts away... ironically, Orthodox Guard would have meant a hit. But I'll return one damage to you, because your Focussed Guard would have protected you better than I gave you last turn.

(You're going to get shot at regardless. But seriously, if someone's senses suddenly go "oh crap danger", move away from the thing, and certainly do not charge it. Like I said, trust me. That tissue disruptor is nasty business and it kicked my ass in our game when I did just that.
