It's too small to show on wide scanners, so it's really not practical to tracks it on cameras unless you know where it is, surveillance or otherwise.
Moving on to find the BV-50 was something to possibly do, if you can work out where to go. But time is still passing!
And indeed, enough time has passed now that it is on to its next target/ In the increasingly panicked command centre, reports are coming in that another defence installation in the area is being attacked.
Told you guys that we can't do anything but sit back and see what happens, and since (this planet) is not part of the Republic, we have no obligation to defend it. However as Jedi we should by all means try... "I just think our current actions will come of no use. Nor will trying to halt the invasion force. Obviously the Trade Federation expected us to be here as the BV-50 left traps for us, specifically. No one else could have been expected to give chase after the droid destroyer."
I disagree with you. As our loyalty lies with the senate, we have no jurisdiction here. BUT our loyalty also lies with democracy and this is a clear case where an independent planet is being violantly invaded with malicious purposes thus our job is to protect the innocent and serve justice by halting the invasion. Though our first objective should be to stop the invasion and to start negotiations between the two sides (thus not killing off the invaders)
Which would mean that it could pose a threat to the Republic, and hence must be stopped.
Xeth heavily sighs in disappointment. He knows that the Jedi could not have stopped the BV-50 in time; it had the advantage of being able to bypass scanners and take them by surprise.
"Here they come," Xeth says, eyeing the scanner. He turns to Minas.
"Colonel, you have to get us on good terms with the Marshall," Xeth says. "We can help, and he needs us right now. My Jedi companions are not going to be able to save the next generator and the invasion is beginning. He can use our leadership skills and our talents in battle."
The droid obviously expected Jedi, they must know we are here... perhaps we an arrange something with the Fed's. I doubt any army (this planet) has will be able to stop as many battle droids the opposing ships contains. We should have the authority to get the Republican Guard to send a fleet to (this (name?) planet) as least some support. Does anyone have a senate contact handy?
You mean the Senatorial Guard? They are just bodygaurds for the Senators and only go where the Senators go on internal matters. The Republic has no standing force of its own except you guys.
Evem if there was, you'd need a vote in the Senate for intervention which you won't get- they wouldn't even do that when the Feds invaded Naboo!
