Gallagher frowns.

"Not quite," he admits.

"Well, you are worried you killed him... 'unprofessionally'. Why might you have done that?"

"Revenge," Gallagher says, grimly. "For what became of my sister."

"Hmm," he says. "Are you sure about that? Are you sure Rundell killed your sister, Gallagher?"

Jelena- Joylo's small arms move with immense rapdity as he nosisily devours a chicken-like dish.

"It's mostly just about fine details, all of this," says Joylo. "We've got a delicate tightrope to balance, between helping these people and not oppressing others. Of course, the Galaxy is producing enough food to feed the Galaxy but... it's never as simple as that. It's getitng the food to the right place at the right time. Now, we want to make that easier, but of course the Senate doesn't produce any food at all, and it is hardly as if Coruscant is farmland. Food is privately grown and owned in the Republic by sovereign worlds, and we cannot force them to hand it over. That's licensed piracy, even assuming it would survive a vote, which it would not. So it is all about a system that encourages food to flow where it is needed."

Andro- you end up on a similar subject (you and Jelena have picked people who are on different sides of the same issue)

She says a very similar thing about how the problem is not production, but distribution.

"And in the end, not enough people care to do anything about it," she says. "These planets don't show up in current events much and their voting strength in the Senate is tiny. It's taken a crisis of this proportion to get any decent debate done about it at all, which I suppose the Synod is in part responsible for. Frankly, the charities that I represent are a drop in the ocean. This situation needs extremely extensive Government intervention, and very, very quickly. People are dying already."

"Why else would I have struck him down?"

Sienar laughs.

"Maybe you felt like it? Gallagher, everyone knws a deranged lunatic killed your sister. Because that's what everyone said happened- very neat, very self-contained. But having been there myself, I'm not so sure. Perhaps you shoudn't be either. Something for you to think on..."

"Surely you are not implying that I may have killed her!" Gallagher says, standing from his meditation. "You said you would tell me things, not cryptically drop hints and let me meditate upon them."

"I can tell you whatever I like, the problem is just that you won't believe me. What if I told you that I killed her?"

"I wouldn't be so quick to deny it," Gallagher says, pressing his hands against his temples, "but then I wouldn't be sure of why Rundell had to die."

"He could identify me, and was of no use any more."

"But then he would not have died by my hand! Meaning I never committed the act, and have nothing to fear."

"A worry off your mind then! Of course, that you totally failed to stop me and my plans is an issue, but no-one is perfect. Now, come with me. I wish to show you something."

Gallagher pulls his robes tight around him, still feeling cold, and falls into step beside the hobbling Abbot Sienar.

Somehow you are still worried. There's deception here, Gallagher- clearly he's not going to give you a straight answer. You need to untiwst your muddled memories.

"The Senatorial reception has started," he says. "I thought we'd take a look."

"It must be quite a sight," Gallagher says, trying to sound enthusiastic, though really he is hoping he does not see his friends until he is ready to face them and confidently say that he is a Jedi Knight and nothing else.

"It is, and we shall be in the best place to see it."

"Where is that, I wonder?"

Well, he seems to be taking you across the Basilica, instead of down to the entrance to the Great Hall.

"Well, there's no doubt something needs to be done right away. What would you propose as a solution?"
