"What you might call a family business. And in times such as these I'd rather not have a master poking into my business. So... if I tell you some very interesting things about what you are looking into, perhaps you might enter into an honourable agreement not to tell your Master about any involvment at this place. I am sure Zaland will remain silent."

"I'm sure he will. Very well, you have my attention, Rodian. Tell me what there is to tell, though I might inquire more about Zaland's affiliations, if you don't mind."

"Haven't you worked it out yet? My dear Jedi, you are very naive.

"First of all, though. What you are stumbling onto here is a massive underworld war. Operations around here are controlled by a consortium of, um, 'independent operators' who ultimately owe allegiance to the Hutts. But a new group is moving in to try and take control- not just of operations on this planet, but of the whole sector. A lot of dead bodies are aroind, though few will ever be found. The dead man you are looking into was involved in narcotics distribution."

"I see... that is very distressing. I am guessing you have some involvement, but I respect your request and leave you out of things. What is this new group and what is its goal?"

He doesn't know who they are, but they are after what so many are- control, mostly of the drugs distribution network.

He doesn;t think it will last, though. Word of the trouble ahs reached the Hutts and they do not like even their second-hand comntrol undermines. They have put bounties on the three people responsible and have sent six expert assassins to do the job.

"Hmm... I don't expect them to do very well, then. But just in case, do you know who these people are?"

Does Gallagher know the name of his sister's lover? He wants to know if maybe he is involved in this.

As said, he has no idea.

His name was Rundell, who this man can name as a partner of the dead man.

"Hmm... I don't suppose that you know more about Rundell? He has... kidnapped someone of importance to us. It may have to do with what has been happening."

All he can tell you is that Rundell was heavily involved in dsitrributing narcotics.

But a kidnapping doesn't surprise him- it's all part of this war he's talking about. That's rather the point.

"Why kidnappings?" Gallagher says. "The person kidnapped had nothing to do with this."

"She's a Thespian."

"So it is because of her wealth? But they have issued no ransom." Gallagher pauses. "How'd you know she was Thespian? Because of Zaland's interest?"

And was the Rodian referring to Zaland's family protecting my family when he referred to the organization? Or something else?

He laughs. Rodians always sound weird when laughing.

"You really do know nothing, Jedi! Very well, I shall lift your veil of ignorance. Thespians... are gangsters. The Klinge-Fausts are the most powerful of these crime famillies. The Protectors are not bodyguards- they are enforcers..."

In total disbelief of what he has just heard, Gallagher clenches his jaw.

"I don't believe you," Gallagher says through his teeth. "They are good people, they wouldn't... they couldn't..."

Gallagher tries to sense if the Rodian is lying.

(That is quite a bombshell... wow...)

Jelena will be speaking in Joylo's own tongue, to make things comfortable.

"The Jedi Order has some business on Mandragos that I am not at liberty to speak about, but... we also wish to show good will in attending this meeting of the Poverty Commission. I am Jelena Bendu, Jedi Knight. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Senator Risus. I have met few beings of Daerum before, but I have studied your language, as you can hopefully tell."

You sense no emotional signs of that- though he could just be very good at it.

"You think the heiress if a wealthy family met a low down drugs smuggler from a world like this by chance? He was doing business for the family when she met him. And the family... does businss for the Hutts. Someone she trusted must have switched sides. Her kidnapping is a warning to the Klinge-Fausts to give up their business."

Gallagher starts to consider ways to make him tell the truth, regardless of what Master Korth has told him about using his powers or his lightsaber for bullying, but... Gallagher puts it together with the mystery of how Kellan and Rundell ever met and how touchy Zaland was about being present in the bar at all.

He feels like throwing up in horror that his background can be attributed to something so vile as gangsters.

"I... never would have expected such things from my... um... that family. They do not seem the sort, but I suppose that shows what I know. I... I still have to recover the Thespian girl, though. What... what has happened with the other kidnappings in this drug war?"

"If the threats are not taken seriously they start to send back body parts.

"Zaland felt it was one of my associates who may have organised it. His brother used to protect the misisng girl when she came here visiting her fool of a lover. But I am waiting to see the result of the Assassins' work before I declare sides in this war."

Gallagher goes cold when the Rodian reveals what may become of his sister, the sister he never really knew.

"I can't let that happen!" Gallagher cries. "Can you help me find her?"

"You must be insane. Even if I could, I would only find myself a target if I did. This information is all I give you."

He starts to head back inside.

"These new people are professionals though. The body parts they send back- very cleanly severed!"

And that was all you got from him.
