Yeah he did, but Jessica is also 1) a brand new vamp with no clue what the hell she's doing. Bill is trying to look out for her i.e. a father figure as he felt responsible for her being in the position she's in, in the first place.
The maker thing I believe works on everyone (vamp wise) because of the code of the authority ect ect. But once a they start hating or having feelings of regret or whatever its a bit different. I.E. Bill and Lorena

I think it goes back to when Bill went nuts and fed on Sookie Shithouse. He wasn't burning in the sun for a little while after that, and he looked surprised. Probably something to do with her blood.

Cant agree more. This season is 10000000 times better than #2 which was down right trash. But this last episode was a HUGE let down, and yes Tara MUST DIE.

As for as Godric and Eric go. That was just pure honor, respect, and loyalty to one. Godric was more than a maker to Eric thus the deeper connection to him. He was his father, brother, and much more.
Godric would be the only physical match for Russell.
