Superman's heat vision can't be measured from what I've read. We know the core temp of a star is 45 million degrees, and Superman's heat vision is so far beyond that it can't be measured. So I don't know if Supes heat vision would affect DM. Superman can also vibrate to become intangable, and there is always the sun bath route.
Imperiex, at the conclusion of the Our Wolrd at War story arc, had absorbed suffcient power to destroy the universe (and chain react the destruction of the multiverse). Imperiex, as Our Worlds at War Secret Files and Origins showed, was God's cosmic agent of universal creation and destruction -- Imperiex was the Big Bang, essentially.
Brainiac had this power trapped inside himself; Imperiex chose the sundipped Superman to break Imperiex out of Brainiac's cell. Later, Superman outmuscled the Imperiex-powered B-13. That should tell you just how powerful sundipped Superman was in that arc -- Superman was powerful enough to break a cell that a Big Bang level force could not; Superman was powerful enough to outmuscle B-13/Imperiex's "full counter thrusters!"😉
I think it would be a good fight but I don't think DM would wipe the floor with Superman. There are alot of haters out there that immediately dismiss Superman. I think he could conceivably beat DM.

Ridiculous. Honestly, no one from any other company could defeat him? Just naming other Moore characters that could, off-hand: Miracleman, the Warpsmiths, God-Swamp Thing, Promothea, Jim Jaspers, the Fury, Mogo, Johnny Beyond, the N-Men, Mystery Incorporated, Horus the Lord of Light, Supreme, Tom Strange, and Tom Strong with Prep.Seriously, what an absurd thing to say: " And it's evident almost the majority of you haven't even read it if you think that anyone in the entire DC, Marvel, Dark Horse, (etc.) comic universe can defeat him."
The scientist said it in the movie "People say Superman has arrived and he is American" but no. God has arrived and he is American" or something in that manner. Stating that Dr Manhattan is basically next to or on the level of a God and not just a Superman. I know Superman always kicks ass in the comics and cartoons but Dr Manhattan, eventhough he had lil airtime would seem to be more powerful when comparing what he was capable of doing. Homie could teleport to Mars in a second. He could make himself multiply into many and he could make it to where objects go through him AND he could make people blow up with the wave of his hand. Manhattan to me is a sure winner. Doesn't seem like a hand to hand combat fighter like Superman because he is too powerful. Dude walked on the surface of the sun.
Dr. Manhattan would win this 10/10
why?
Superman: looks at Dr. Manhattan and go "WTF?! why the f**k is your shlong hanging out? Put some f**kin pants on you perv!"
Bystanders: Hey sups! you gotta fight that guy!
Superman: No f**king way am I touching that!! EEEEEWWWWWWW!!!! superman then flies away disgusted to take a bath in alcohol
Dr. Manhattan: wut?! was goin on?

Lets look at both of themDoctor Manhatten powers
Regeneration,
Energy and matter manipulation,
Flight,
Immortality,
Superhuman strength, speed and durability,
Intangibility,
Precognition,
Teleportation,
Self-duplication,
Superhuman growth,
Genius intellectHere are Superman's
Superhuman strength, speed, stamina, durability, senses, intelligence, regeneration, and longevity; super breath, heat vision, x-ray vision and flight, genius intellect. There are a lot of similarities and differences, now we can sit here and debate who is more invincible, and faster and all that. They are pretty evenly matched. However in theory by the comics, Dr. Manhatten has 5 major advantages on Superman. Intangibility, if you cant touch him, you cannot hurt him. Precognition, if you can see the future of a fight, they you know how to win. Teleportation, again, if you cant touch him, you cant win. Self-duplication, he can create as many duplicates of himself as he wants to all who are individuals and think on there own therfore acting independent of one another. The last is energy manipulation, which is the same inherently as the silver surfer. Another thing is Superman has a weakness to kryptonite.
So in theory after you match them skill for skill, Dr. Manhattan would win, but he has no were near the the record that Sup's has, Superman has faced enemies that have been more powerful and always won. Doctor Manhattan is a great idea, but he lacks the personality and good will of a character to be fully developed unlike superman
With all this, Dr. Manhattan and Supes would probably battle it out for hours destroying the whole earth before a winner was named, so I count this fight a draw. Besides, they have nothing to fight about. Dr. Manhattan has no human concerns appear pointless and without obvious merit about anything regarding civilization. Case, in point.
Draw, both equals, with nothing to fight about
Originally posted by AlmightyKfishon the other hand one of the major implications was also that he chose not to do anything to even try.
Except he can't.'I am just a puppet that can see the strings.'
Everything that has, is and will ever happening to him is all the present to Manhatten. He basically exists in every second of his life simultaneously in the present... if that makes sense.
He can't change anything. He could see his future of Supes punching him in the gut, but he couldn't then dodge that punch, as it's what is going to happen.
It was kinda a major plot point in Watchmen.
