She rolls 18. LaKresha is a whirling dervish of death as she slashes you again, for 10 damage. This time, instead of ripping cloth or cutting skin, her sword tears into your shoulder and inflicts a -1 penalty.

Con has his chance to strike back.

Can I make a snapped attack?

It will be a -3 to hit due to penalties. Is that okay?

Yeah.

Unfortunately, when Con tries to run LaKresha through, she Parries by snapping her free hand into Con's swordhand, pushing the sword away when he rolls a 4.

A force dodge.

LaKresha performs a Cut and Roll, spinning past you and cutting you in the side for 10 damage. This raises you to 73 damage and a -3 penalty. This fight is going to be close...

A successful Cut and Roll gives LaKresha a free dodge, but it is your move.

Then I will try a Combination again. Damn close fights!

When Con turns on LaKresha, he starts off his Combination with an 18... 24 damage to LaKresha! She makes a Death Check, but uses her last Fortune point to pass, and so is still standing at 87 damage. But then Con rolls a 17 on his second attack, for 23 damage. At 110 damage, there is no way that LaKresha can stay standing. Feel free to describe how your Combination kills her quite suddenly...

After the cut to his side makes Con momentarily scream out in pain, he focuses his thoughts and with the force turns around to perform an extremely quick slash close to LaKresha's chest. As Con's blade misses by less than an inch, when she twists her body to escape the vicious attack. But with the rush the Force granted to Con he spins around once more, and with intense speed drives his blade through the woman's heart. He watches her collapse in front of him and halts for a second to look at her and ponder over the last 3 years...and how it is finally over. When the moment passed he reattaches his lightsaber and hurries over to the rocks, intending to find his buried ally.

LaKresha stares with intense hatred into your face when you run her through, but she goes slack almost immediately and falls backwards off your lightsaber before you put it away.

There is again the roaring in the distance of dropships incoming, but you have time to find Sparnik. You sense him weakly beneath the rocks. It could take time to move them.

Could I speed it up with the force?

Do you have Lift?

Why, yes. A well traveled Jedi such as myself would not let the basics slide.

Indeed. There is one sizeable rock in particular that stands in your way... but your Force roll sees to it that it and a few others lift into the air and move aside as you concentrate, then drop them harmlessly.

Sparnik is beneath, badly wounded by the rockslide. The way the rocks fell prevented him from being crushed outright, but he is unconscious and his legs are shattered.

Do I feel I can move him? And is there any plan where we would go to?

Yes, you will have to throw him over your shoulders. Sparnik would want to follow after the evacuation effort and hold off any Grotos that pursue. The death of LaKresha will break their effort and they will be uncoordinated, but they will be giving chase...

Best route to follow after the evacuation is to take their route, through the canyon and into the caves where you first met Sparnik.

I will do that then...as fast as I can (not before picking up my gun though)...is there any hope for Josiah?

Unfortunately, Josiah has expired and is lost beneath the fallen rubble. Had you made the effort to save him as soon as he had gone down, it could have happened, but he died bravely in battle and it is no fault of yours.

It takes a moment to dig around for your gun, but you find it where you left it. By the time you do, the dropships are arriving and you flee into the caverns amidst a sudden hail of blasterfire.

Ah, a pity. But had I done it, quite possibly it would be me who's dead now, while LaKresha would be up and about.

Can I use the force to speed up my escape?
