STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Decay

Such is the way of war.

A prior knowledge of the canyons and the Force help you get through relatively quickly, but the Grotos stay hot on your trail with dropships hovering overhead and troops behind you. But then you reach the chokepoint, where some of the paths meet... and where Sparnik has four automated cannons guarding the entrance to the hidden lair! When you leap past with Sparnik, they are alerted to the presence of your pursuers and they fire off a series of volleys that close off the paths behind you. You vanished into the caverns and your escape is made good.

In the cool of the cave, a few of the militiamen have stayed behind to meet you.

"Are there no others?" one of them asks, seeing you carrying the unmoving Sparnik.

"No, I am afraid. Our men fought bravely, and we knew what we had to do. What are the plans?"

"The evacuation is complete. Our people are moving deeper into the mountains to hide themselves from the Grotos. Are they far behind?"

"They were in close pursuit when I got here. We must move fast.

But we did kill LaKresha in the battle. Hopefully their actions will be uncoordinated."

"LaKresha of the Grotos? You have slain her? We are indebted to you, Con."

There is the sound of blasterfire nearby.

"We go. Come with us."

I will quickly follow them.

And thus goes the end of that battle. It was a terrible one, Con, and you took many lives this day. The militia and Sparnik's people retreat into the underground network of tunnels and caves that they have found or forged, to hide until they are able to recooperate from the battle. They are confident that with LaKresha slain, unseating the Grotos from power will be drastically simpler.

So long as Sparnik survives. It is hard to give him the medical care that he needs while on the move. Most importantly, his legs have been absolutely crushed; they will have to be removed.

We will have to get him to medical facilities.

"The only medical facilities that are within reach are in the capitol," one of the medics contests. "Whatever is left of the Grotos stands between us and there."

Maybe we can get through undetected?

It would be highly risky. You would have to carry him all the way to the city. The Grotos may have been pulled away from the capital, but they would have left a minimum defense force.

Are there any other possibilities to save Sparnik?

Removing Sparnik's legs will be key to his survival, and the medics think they can stabilize him for the time being. Beyond that, it is up to Sparnik to heal... but they are not sure if he will. They are not even sure what is wrong, but they think possibly internal bleeding or ruptured organs.

So, bringing him to a hospital is not number one priority?

Is there maybe a hideout then we can get to?

You are there now, a network of caves deeper into the mountains.

Do we assume Sparnik will survive if we wait out here?

The medics were actually wondering if they could use your lightsaber for the process of amputating his legs. It will drastically reduce the risk of infection.

Oh, well, of course they can use it.

The surgery, then, only takes moments. They remove Sparnik's mangled legs just above the knee, cleanly severing the legs and cauterizing the wounds left behind with your lightsaber. They hand it back when they are finished and treat the cauterized incisions with limited supplies of bacta and bandages.

Okay, well, I will have to think about what to do then. I should probably get Sparnik in a decent condition before moving on.
