Thanos states that he was omnipotent, explicitly. And that he had infinite power. So he wins. He's more powerful than The Presence. Until you prove otherwise. 🙂

God doesn't have to describe his power. He shows it. He lets the spectre attack him. And then pwns him. He eats the power of reality for lunch in the scan. He says that creation is his. Creation. As in All of it. This would entail everything and everybody. He makes the rules. He can change them. Thanos is a power mad guy who says he's god every other week.
