The Avengers (2011)

I thought it was good. I only have two very minor issues and they are -
spoilers: (sorry, dont know how to do the gray area thing)

1. Didnt like how quick he changed into the Hulk before the battle. Would have been better if they slapped him around a little to edge it on.

2. Didnt like how Tony was practically dead and got woken up by the Hulk screaming at him. Seriously? Should have just had Thor shoot him a little with some lightning or something.

Thats it, my two little complaints and thats it. I can live with those.

I don't know why people have a problem with it (your point #1), as he admits that he's always had the Hulk on-tap ("I'm always angry"😉.

He's clearly been hiding "The other guy", without any trouble for over a year (according to Black Widow) and that comment just reveals how. He's learned to control Hulk.

This makes sense of the lack of reaction when Tony prods him, when Loki attempts to influence and manipulate them and also when initially faced with the aliens. Banner can keep his shit together, reasonably.

The only time he had a forced transformation, he even ended that with a degree of control (landing without harming anyone).

As for point #2, I had a similar feeling, that Thor would apply some Asgardian healing magic or something, but meh ... Hulk Revives!

I was so expecting that to happen too, given that thats exactly what happened in their previous battle (Thor charging up him to 400%).

I'm pretty sure they had Hulk do it for the comedy though, and it worked.

I actually was expecting Thor to Power him up through his Lightning again (but this time to save his life).

But tbh the end result had the cinema roaring in laughter. The Thor thing might have been seen as a cheesy ending.

Yea, I expected Thor to save Iron Man from the fall and after Hulk did it, I was sure Thor was going to revive Stark.

A little too much Hulk.

It was kind of funny, because your watching it expecting Thor to fly up and save him, but he's just standing there staring at him falling.

WTF?!

But then Hulk saves him, and at that point I was definitely expecting Thor to revive him via Lightning like he did in the Ultimate Avengers 2 movie. And would have made sense too considering how we already saw his Lightning power IM up earlier.

But like I said the Hulk shouting at him had the cinema roaring in laughter. So in terms of entertainment value for your general audience I guess Whedon did what he had to do.

thor was actually getting ready to catch ironman, hulk just beat him to the punch.. if i remember correctly, thor started spinning mjolnir, then suddenly.. epic hulk..

Really fun film would go cinema and watch it again, loved the effects and every Avenger had their moment. Clearly Hulk stole the show though whenever he appeared and his pwning of Loki was funny as hell lol. Wish he would have spoken more though. "Puny God!"

He was just staring at him falling. Then says "he's not slowing down", then starts spinning Mjolnir. He didn't seem in any rush at all.

Pretty weird that everyone here thought Thor was going to save/catch Stark. I knew it was going to be Hulk because that scene was already in the trailers!!!

Yeah I was thinking the same.

For the people who seen it in America what was the second post credits scene which i've heard about.

Amazing film. Although can someone explain to me exactly what the army was? I get that loki had an army, give him to him by

Spoiler:
Thanos, I think
but I really didn't catch what or who they were.

The Chitauri.

i heard that the second post credits scene was

Spoiler:
the avengers team went out for shawarma

they went to that restaurant Tony joked about after being saved/revived by Hulk. last bit of humor to top off a great movie going experience.

It was better than the generic Thor though

It would of drag the entertainment/comedy side of the movie.

I honestly forgot about that. You see so many things in the trailer, that you forget what they haven't shown yet.

I tried not to watch too many trailers as they have a habit of ruining the movie for you.

Agreed. They did what they had to do to keep the movie as entertaining as possible from beginning to end.

We all know Thor's the most powerful though 😛

increase drama vs decreased comedy. either way, entertainment value would still be there.

plus that scene was so similar to the ultimate avengers movie 2 scene. that you can't help but expect thor to bust some lightning charging effect.

edit: on a side note, is it just me, or did hulk looked like he was standing like a gorilla in that scene.
