The Avengers (2011)

I'm pretty certain Pym will get his day on the big screen, partly due to the Ant-Man film that's in the works. Though I do hope they don't do the "three Ant-Men" script that was rumored: Pym in the 60's, Lang in the 80s-90s, and O'Grady in the modern days. Pym is a good enough character to work with and a well cast Janet will do wonders anyway.

If the second film has to be more "personal", you don't have to look any further than Ultron. He's easily the most pervasive threat to the Avengers and certainly a more personal one to the team at large.

Thought they'd scrapped the Ant man idea, a couple times?

The second time I'd heard it wasn't suppose to be connected to the Marvel Studios "universe" anyway?

Which is all fine by me as I absolutely hate the Pym character. Only I know you can't really do Ultron without him unless he's made by someone else or the creator is left unnamed. Neither of which would sit well with true comic dorks like me I think

It's been postponed and pushed back, but it hasn't been scrapped completely. Kevin Feige says the script is progressing along and the furthest its been in years.

With Marvel being owned by Disney it would be amusing to see how they deal with a woman beater like Hank. Though, they haven't gone into Tony's alcoholism so maybe they'll just ignore it.

Well, Pym's not a "woman beater" in the sense that he habitually abused Janet. All things considered, Reed Richard's abused Susan more times than Hank's abused Janet, and he doesn't have the excuse of mental disorder to hide behind. But just because Disney owns the rights to Marvel and their movies doesn't mean that they'll kidify things or anything. If anything they'll probably borrow the characterization used in Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes! for Hank.

Edgar Wright has been the driving force behind this for several years (why he likes Ant-Man so much, I don't know.) He's superbly talented, but based on the lackluster box office for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, I wonder if Marvel really wants to let him make a comedy adventure with one of their characters. And considering Hank Pym is one silver age hero the Marvel faithful has never embraced, maybe they're wondering if they really want to commit to it.

Aside - what scale are they using for the Hulk in this film? I haven't seen any numbers, but he looks taller than the 9-foot Hulk we saw in The Incredible Hulk - but not the 15-foot version from Hulk, either.

I need a time machine so I can just skip ahead to whenever a complete marvel movie saga box set is released. Then I could bengout watching them all n afterwards try n stop the tragedies that get made n cause the great characters that never get movies to have a shot!

Is that merch from The Avengers (why is Spiderman there?)?

If so, Hulk is clearly over 13-15ft tall. He's more than double CA's height, and he must be at least 6' tall.

i think that's someone's personal little collection 'cause Spidey wouldn't be there and Hulk isn't THAT large in the Avengers.

Saw the movie Sunday, and it was awesome. I probably go back see it one more time.

Just saw the movie today and loving it. I am proud to be a Marvel comic fan!

and I don't see the issue with more Hulk focus than Thor etc... it was balance in my recollection.

Even the JLA are fans of the film! 😄

Contains spoilers....

JLA buys bootleg dvd copies confirmed 😛

Just watched it yesterday, and it was very good! Lots of action and the characters seemed to all have about the same screen time. I stayed and saw Thanos at the end. I read somewhere (on yahoo) that there was something else after that, is that true?? Good movie!

they went to that restaurant Tony joked about after being saved/revived by Hulk. last bit of humor to top off a great movie going experience.
