It has a shot at Avatar. At this stage who knows? Nothing would surprise me now.
But I think there's no doubt now it will beat Harry Potter and the Daethly Hallows Part II becoming at least the 3rd biggest movie of all time.

I saw Avengers again this morning. I thought of something I would have been funny to include, when Coulson comes to get Tony and Pepper says "I'll go to DC." Tony should have said "Don't go to DC, DC sucks, nothing good ever came out of DC." Nice jab at DC. 😈
my mistake, it didn't really make that much when it was released the second time; it made most of it's money from Dec, 2009 to Aug, 2010. It made at least $10 million during each of it's first 17 weeks. Seems like a lot of it was a case of people hearing about it week after week. I don't think the same will happen with Avengers because this wasn't a "sneaky" movie like Avatar. Everyone knew about it, and everyone who wanted to see it, pretty much already has. Even with repeat viewings, it's very unlikely that it reaches Avatar in domestic or international gross.
