That fella wouldn't last two weeks in Jamaica.

People often have this misconception that Jamaica is this tropical paradise where happy, relaxed and friendly Rastas greet you. When in reality, if you step outside the borders of your lofty resort, it's a 3rd world country and you're in high risk of getting shanked by a 12 year old for your sandals.

Sheeet!!!! Those guys would be coming to me for grass if I moved to Jamaica.

That really does not sound like a bad place to live.

I'm ashamed to be an American now. Its true. I just took down the American Flag today. If my wife would leave her family, i'd move out of this country.

Never thought i'd see the day when the USA was lead by a muslim. At least we know his wife loves America. Oops. Thank goodness 98% of the blacks voted for him because he was black instead of the stances he proposed. Oh well. I'll never vote again and i've lost all faith in this country.

🙁 He's not muslim.

Barack Hussein Obama sure as hell isnt your everyday American name. What is he?

(Please dont say Socialist as we all know that)

Our standing as a country on this planet has now shot up. Overnight.

The world is applauding us, here in the u.s.

And it's probably only the beginning. I think we're in for a lot more than we think.

Hopefully Obama, on behalf of the u.s., will be able to install confindence and credibility onto american people and the global community in the coming month and years.

I am interested, what policy of Obama's do you like best?

Which policy do you think will bring the most radical change?

Just a note ''Imporve eceonomy'', ''Get troops out of Iraq'' is not a sufficient answer.
If those are the ideas, I'd like to know your opinion on Obama's methods, or how he will do such?

Supporters of Obama, such as yourself, who I know didn't and wouldn't support him just because of the colour of his skin, are well infrmed of his policies, and since I didn't really follow the discussions and ideas, you could help me out.

Why do his opinions have to be radical and new? He never claimed they were, as far as I know.

Well as I said I didn't follow much of the debate, but his ideas surely have to be inovative somehow since his campagin slogan is ''change'' (or something along the lines of).
As far as I understood, ''Change is coming'' is all over papers.

So they must be more invative, considering last 8 years were...well...same.

I think you misunderstand what he says. It's not "My ideas are unique and powerfully radical", it is "I promise clear change from how the 8 years were handled". Which I do believe he will deliver.

Rupert Murdoch has stated that Obama doesn't have his backing...

And that's a surprise to anyone, because?

Besides, he didn't say he wouldn't back him, he said he's worried that Obama will give into more socialist leanings which Murdock doesn't support. And he did it before the election.

Though, again, that's a surprise? The guy owns Fox News.

Two things, one I didn't see the original, so was the question "Does Barak Obama have your backing" or is that just what the article says and two that was, again, before the election, as such I'd assume that it refers to who Rupert Murdock would "back" in the election, not that he's not got it as President. And still, not a surprise either.

Ok, I see. That is alright, my question should be amended to FoN. What ARE those changes and HOW he will make them and which one does he like the best?

If I may, one of the major points I'd say that Obama as well as McCain would have had as presidents is that it would reset or at least better the foreign relations with the allies of the United States. Bush was vastly unpopular with about everyone in the first world as far as I can tell, and either of the candidates at least had it going for them to seem more honest and less corrupt.

What I think Obama will bring though, is an improvement in the Health Care situation of the US, which is, frankly, to any non-fundamentalist US Conservative, atrocious. I also think he will press for a swifter resolution of the Iraq conflict than either Bush or McCain, which I personally find a good thing. Except for that, I don't like his policies much, but I'd give him some time to show how he handles himself. I do agree though that some of the more extreme Obama = Jesus crap seems unfounded.

Because all three of my names are absurdly Italian, I'm obviously Roman Catholic, right?

Im probably going to get alot of stick for this but there are somethings id like to bring up.

Eventhough its really good that Obama is Americas first black president I don't think its the death of racism in America but I think its a start. Obvoulsy Americans are alot more tolerant and things have changed vastly I think its partially due to circumstance. At this point in American history there is alot more at stake hell you might even be rascist but if you think Obamas going to save your life you will sure as hell vote for him. As one black person said when he was asked wether white Americans can vote for a black person " I don't think they have a choice".

I think this issue of race not being an issue is like Christians predicting the end of the world...its going to happen at some point. Hell when racism was rife people were still saying there was no racism, but obvously this is a great milestone.

I also don't think that things are going to change much for black people in America but it will improve. As far as I know blacks in S.Africa are still worse off than whites and things are still very bad but thats just because things aren't going to change overnight.

What a feeling it might be..

To be black and now have your full changed named to Mr. President (of the United States, of course..)

...god, man.

LOL I wanna be the Prime Minsiter of Iceland..meh I don't want the responsibility but it would be cool.

I think America has proven that its alot more tolerant than the rest of the world. I think this would be harder to do in Europe.

Probably.

The House of Commons; Parliament is way more conservative than our our Congress and House members here in the U.S. but your society seems very liberal, though. So you never know.
