Heard in passing on the radio, Somalis attacked a cruise ship about 300 miles off the Somali coast, causing minor damage to the hull, ship kept going, they got nothing.

Would have been awesome if after they ran out of ammo, the crew of 1,200+ got together and attacked back, maybe capturing the would be pirates, looting and raping them in turn.

Hah! Certainly would make the pirates think twice before trying to capture a ship without a small army...

I guess economic crises hit everyone.

That's definitely true. I mean, if we're doing poor economically (America), then it is not uncommon that other nations suffer because of it (see Great Depression and how it affected Europe).

yea everyones poor and wants to go the quick easy way to get money. Although the somalian pirates should have a lot of money being as they routinely steal and ransom oil tankers.

Doesn't mean they don't want more cash.

Which to this day I don't understand why the Saudi king didn't lower the ****ing boom on their pirate asses. He has the money to hire the worlds best mercenary squad and completely wipe out whichever pirate group took his tanker.

Perhaps he doesn't want to completely eviscerate them?
