Spoiler:
i dont know....lindy told cloc about how sentry was just an addict and will always remain one(he is addicted to the power now). But then void laughs at her an says that he would love to hear more of her theories. So it doesnt really seem like that is the truth about sentry/void. Void was obviously there in biblical times, dont know about sentry tho. Maybe when Robert Reynolds drank the serum he got the powers of the void, but since he was an addict and crazy he created the sentry so he could be a hero like captain america(like always wanted to be)

He also refers to sentry as god himself a few times. It really seem to me that he is some sort of wrath of god at this point. Maybe he will seem like the villain in siege so that asgard and earth unit to fight a common foe. Which will in turn end the siege of asgard.

Or he will do some crazy black plague thing again like he did in biblical times to end all the fighting...just some thoughts

Im also seeing sentry/void as something similar to the phoenix force, and bob reynolds might just be one of many hosts.

I think he's going to destroy all the fake Gods in the Marvel Universe.

Am about to read it.

Thanks to all of you who used tags, genuinely.

What's with everyone being so worried about the whole

Spoiler:
galactus thing? It was clear to me that Void was just mocking Lindy and her "stories". Also what BBrem said makes the most sense. Eaither the Void is just some force that appears every once in a while and uses different people as hosts or it is Bob who's just struggling to be a hero.
Also it always seemes to me that Robert and The Sentry are like 2 different personalities. Robert a junkie with mental problems, Sentry a hero, that's how he appeared in say Sentry/Spider-man crossover, it didn't look like he was some junkie....

Here's my take on the issue:

For the longest time, I feel The Sentry has been without purpose. I think that is what the fans' biggest issue was; the fact that he had literally no point and was still so powerful. I had always figured that he either had no point or there was a reason for his underlying issues not having been revealed yet. So...

Spoiler:
when Lindy was explaining how much of a bad person he is and that he's essentially a drug addict that doesn't deserve the power, coupled with all the allusions to the fact that he may be an avatar for something not only immense, but evil, it made sense to me. It changed him from an anonymous, blonde pretender to Thor and into a terrifying concept.

I can now openly accept his existence now, because it's not only a huge reveal, but it's quite an important one, especially if Bob loses out to this thing and eventually becomes a bad guy entirely. I'm thinking that the source of his power is a force, like most of you, but with the biblical references I'm hoping it's more specific than that. If they went through all that just to say, "Oh, it was a force", then that sucks. If they explain where it came from, why and why it chose Bob and these reasons are good, it will be a major point for Bendis

Btw, does Lindy strike anyone else as a hypocritical biatch?

Spoiler:
She is trying to kill him, a guy who clearly has a mental suffering, loves her and is in need of help. Bob would give his life just to help her and she not only has the guys to try and take his life, but calls him a monster? The man is a drug addict. The last time I checked, we set the bar for being a monster a bit higher than that

This is a good point.

I have to say, after reading DA#12, while I might not really like the Sentry, I am more intrigued in him and the direction they take him with.

Ok Guys this is my take. Who is the Professor? What was project Sentry? Maybe the Page where u see the Void in Ancient Egypt was not the Void personality, But really the power of God. The power in Moses and Jesus. Moses was the prophet the jews held highest. And Jesus is the Son of God to the christians. Maybe there is the reason Bendis chose them. And maybe Project Sentry was like the Super Soldier serum but was up the notch with the DNAs of Moses and Jesus!

Seriously, Joesha?

You think we're using spoiler tags for a laugh? This is what I mean about people not getting simple rules.

Well, you've gotta bear in mind that

Spoiler:
she said he has committed murder. I doubt she called him a mentally ill, MURDERING monster because he simply has an imaginary friend. Now, as readers, we can draw conclusions that all of the bad he's ever done is because of The Void. SHE doesn't necessarily know how much of The Void is in him, you know? She went so far as to say that he blames it on The Void, calling it the Bogey Man. She doesn't think The Void is even real, but it's painfuly real...dangerously real, in fact
.

So, I wouldn't necessarily call her a hypocrite.

Suddenly the age of sentry series origin starts to seem logical to me

Let me guess AC is bitching again about you not using spoilers?

This is up for a Mod to take care of but someone just cant stop bitcing and crying.

I see this post as your opinion and its not spoiling anything.

Waitasec. Didn't they say

Spoiler:
the whole Sentry becoming the void after getting shot and trying to destroy the world happen 3 days before the moleculeman story? I thought siege is gonna resolve around Void trying to destroy the world. Does it mean the whole thing wont even last 3 days?

I actually like reading Dark Avengers 13, its intresting.

after stalemating galactus perhaps void thinks himself to actually be a devourrer of worlds hence calling himself galctus

Spoiler:
This comic really has me intrigued. I'm truly interested in where Bendis takes this.

Personally, I think the Galactus comment was just to mock Lindy (and a badass one at that). There certainly could be a deeper meaning, but it seemed to me the Void was poking fun at the fact that he's at least as powerful as such a being.

void is turing into an interesting character...much better then bob in my opinion...his tone and arrogance is awesome

agreed i take back almost every bad thing ive ever said bout sentry. finally a reason why he is so...the way he is

Dark Avengers is turning into a really gripping read... I think there's maybe more to the Void's "I AM GALACTUS..." comment than just a piece of flippancy.

Galactus' function is to balance the entire 616 universe, to prune life and to eventually give birth to the next universe (in some explanations). he is vital and fundamental to the ordered running of the universe. he is neither good nor evil (or, perhaps he is both?) being on a much vaster scale.

Sentry/Void seems to be Galactus in the microcosm (relatively speaking). Sentry/Void could well be the manifestation of the duality at the root of a psyche like Galactus ... with Galen (Robert Reynolds), his former mortal component and Eternity (Void), the avatar of the abstract eternal omniscience (God/Devil?)... the Galactus (Sentry) persona constructed to hold together that otherwise polarised combination, to give the two 'persons' a unity and oneness of action and intent...

all we are seeing is that Sentry skin being peeled back, because it's not fitting well, because the human component is not strong enough, because the eternal component is not in harmony with its purpose ... essentially, he may truly be an aspect of the same power that empowers Galactus

Maybe the religion that Bendis is actually plugging into isn't so much a monotheistic one as a dualistic/Manichean kind of deal... with "good" and "evil" as separate and absolutely discrete things?

I'm liking the need to ask where this power comes from... I'd be interested in knowing where Hulk's power comes from too ... it must be at least as vast and given the destructive impulse that it has (how Banner is ultra paranoid about losing control of it) I think there is a lot of gold to be mined in juxtaposing Banner with Reynolds and Hulk with Sentry (and Hulk's infinite well of power with Void and its Force/God)...

how do you do the spoiler font effect?
