Kratos vs Dante

Perhaps by changing one thread, i.e like allowimg himself to go back in time to kill Zeus it changes other threads automatically, for example if he hadnt had gone back perhaps Athena would have survived.

ofcourse perhaps time is immutable, perhaps Kratos changing threads merely created a seperate reality, like a branch on a tree....by changing the thread he creates a seperate reality where he arrives to kill Zeus, but the real reality simply connects to it.

Yeah, causing him to "go back in time" got Athena killed[something like that].

Most likely. He /alters/ his time like causing something else to happen.

Who knows maybe we will have to wait until God of War III?

If this by chance the topic with the most pages?

Nowhere near.

Apparently someone in chat found one with 127 pages or something?

Yeah, that time travel thing is a whole plot hole, if you consider the grandfather paradox. What I also don't get is that if Kratos kills the Sisters, and then travels back, don't the sisters exist in that time? Unless of course, the sisters exist outside time somehow.
And how the hell does Kratos rewind his thread to a point where he doesn't even exist?

This thing probably deserves its own thread, and should not be discussed here >_>

But thankfully it's not like Heroes, where in certain cases, time travel adheres to the grandfather paradox, and at others, it does not >_>

And I say it's 50/50 for Kratos & Dante, both are bad-ass, can kick some serious ass, aren't afraid of anything...they're equals 😬

I don't think the sisters are really dead[except Clotho]. I mean we NEVER saw them get killed, all we really saw, was him trapping them into a mirror, and breaking the mirror. Maybe The Fates started this? Because they DID cause the Titans to win the war.

Yeah, not dead literally, but figuratively yes.

This is a Kratos vs Dante thread though, not Time Travel in GowII

Although time powers in GOW are relvent to the thread, because its important to note that Kratos cannot manipute time by himself and that its not a factor in this thread.

If a fate statue is near the arena, it is a factor.
Not being able to manipulate by self is also not a factor, Dante cannot perform a move such as Air Raid without the appropriate Devil Arm, or summon swords without Pandora. They are just tools and help to augment their abilities.

By the way, are we assuming the Dante to be DMC 4 Dante? Or DMC 1? It matters due to factors such as experience, and also because Dante's DT in 4 is the same, and doesn't change depending on his Devil Arm

A fate statue was not stated to be in the Arena.

It was ambiguous, the thread creator never specified anything about the fate statue, so you can assume it is there.

erm no...you dont assume anything is there, if something is not added in the OP it simply does not excist, its not part of Kratos; equipment or powers....

On that basis, we can eliminate a lot of the abilities that they have which aren't inherently a part of them.

Almost all powers and abilities they have are part of them or an item belonging to them...

Those statues are not Kratos', their not his items, their not his abilities and their just random objects found in certain rooms in the game, he does not bring them with him.

Technially, only Rebellion & Ebony & Ivory are Dante's weapons, and canoncially, he only uses those two weapons. Wasn't the Devil Arms part of Dante?

Play DMC1. He can jump HIGH on walls, and he doesn't need to "super" jump. Anyway, isn't air raid, when you are able to fly?[See: Alastor in DMC1]. Vergil didn't need anything, he just used, Dark Slayer I think. And he can use Lucifer, he doesn't need Pandora. Kratos can't slow time if he doesn't have a Fate's Statue.

The devil arms Dante gains in the games are canon so he would have them, although it dpeends on which Dante were using, if at the end of the game, he doesnt have a weapon then he would not have it.

Yeah, there canon, but canoncially he defeats devil with his own incarnation of power. Now in DMC3; he used Cerberus for a short period of time.
