it was only target practice..not real animals.

That wouldn't be "hunting" then, now would it. Good to know you've trained your socially outcast child to fire a weapon, I'm sure that practice will come in handy when he climbs a clock-tower.

Then how is that "hunting"?

And I always found shooting inanimate objects to boring, personally. Then my Dad made me shoot a mouse he got in a mouse trap and I felt like shit for months.

Personally I feel that saying plying video games is bad but teaching your kid how to shoot things is good, is utterly nonsenSical.

Ive read SOME of your video game thread...appears you didnt do the family game night thing or any of the sort when you were a kid.....so you dont understand the importance of games to a kid...yes they want to be alone sometimes...THEIR TIME....but parent to parent...you really should find a game that you both can play.....I play video games with my kid at least a few times a week...during this time..when pause button is hit match completed level finished etc...I learn things that are going on in her life...you are on their level then....they seem to talk....my mother and I connected finally that way...she didnt have games with her family either but she figured out how to connect with me...video games were it...though they were much more simple and less violent then..lol(pac-man space invaders ping pong..lol..(God Bless Her as she is gone now) but my point is dont knock the games unless your kid is prone to mini seizures etc... join in ...like I said I didnt read all your thread so I might be way off in saying all this...I play less games myself as I get older instead I drink and get on KMC 😱 😂 🍺....but my kids a teenager and is most of the time busy doing her own thing so I can get away it..lol..but dont knock the games hun as it is great way to be on their level and connect with them! and as far as that one post....about forgetting about friends and activities could be a bit of depression...via grab the game pad and find out!...u know I like u so Im not bashing....just my ¼ cent worth of input..lol
Well no one will play Trivial Pursuit with me anymore... 🙁

judging by her own comments shes not thought any of this thread, or her own arguments through nor her own social pattern, maybe shes just jumping on a band wagon because her friends dont like games either and shes never used them so their automatically bad...

Man, I just love that game.

Please don't judge me. I'm just trying to figure out why usually guys will stay on for hours on end.

Because it's fun to gamers.

Not hard to figure out.

So what?

Some people watch TV all day, some people read all day. Some people are just obsessive with whatever they enjoy.

Oooooooooooooookay, obsessive disorder.

So then say that obsessive disorders are bad, don't attribute it to games.

trivial pursuit??? momma bear put down the honey jar and pick up that game pad..lol...you can find one and then u will understand..lol

I believe obsessive anything out of portion is not a great thing.

I think (emphasize in the word "think"😉 that Deja is trying to say that it is okay to be a fan of Electronic gaming.

What is not okay is becoming a fanatic or as we better know them as "fanboys"

Which is something that I agree....I'm a fan of the Halo franchise but I don't think it's the greatest game ever. I like the Xbox 360 but I don't think it's the greatest video game gadget EVER. I can't stand fanboys....Sony Fanboys the most...

Same with Nintendo, Pinball machines, Hand held gaming...and stuff.

So yes! Be a fan NOT a fanboy. To quote the most influential movie of all time.....Snakes on a Plane:

"Are you playing that game? Or is the game playing you?"

Yeah!

hmm wrathful is thinking...not good...I think we should drag wrathfuldwarf by his beard(all dwarfs have beards right?) to the milk bar and make him drink force beer and play Halo till he becomes obesessive over it...(sorry just never picked on wrathful b4 so I had to do it sometime..lol) I'll leave and go back to the bar now b4 he strikes back..lol..oh and dejavu they have some kewl dvd games you can play with your youngin...deal or no deal is kewl till you get tired of looking at howie mandell..lol
