They did... unless they went to the cleaners which we couldnt afford at the time.
Plus the cleaners liked to starch them and they werent allowed to be starched. 😖

haha we were so poor... I even hand sewed on all his patches and stuff.
He was lazy and didnt do anything at home... even for his own uniforms.
