ok ive a few questions that hopefully you can answer

Who have been the most diciplined soldiers youve worked with? perhaps an overview of military groups youve worked with? i.e their overall kit in comparison to your own.

Are many soldiers still very young? is there a lot of 16 or younger soldiers like there were in Vietnam for example?

What equipment have you used?

i have worked with sea bees they are a part of the navy.. most were in there mid 30's early 40's and were E-7 and above in the o-4 rank..
very professional.. they are the like navy seals but instead of killing they land and build structures as fast as possible while being safe they are construction workers for the navy..

My job in iraq for disobeying my temporary Ssgt, was to escort air force ppl off the flight deck. i was base security escort, but there was no real danger its just another way to screw with your sleeping time... all the air forced ppl were nice although they did not have a combat mindset they relied to much on us marines for protection..
i asked an air men once, whom i had to escort for about a month at 2 in the morning from his job area to his quarters... we were on base but it can still be very dark and hazardous so usually have to rely on the buddy system.. from falling in a pit or being attacked by ppl or animals, we have actually arrested ppl on base that were mapping our camp with GPS... anyways i asked him where was his wpn did not the air force provide wpns for you guys? he replied that it was in his war pack and was only issued a side arm and he did not need it cause i was there with him... i became a little upset. (airforce age usually 23 and over most are fairly educated and attend school)

army ppl are fairly young at late 17 early 18 below 21 yrs of age...
the reserves are usually in mid late 40's overweight non of them in the army seem to have any real combat knowledge of wpn systems...
we had a army tank unit come to our armory before heading out to patrol.. they wanted us to look at there 50 cal machine gun they had been using it for two weeks and were unable to fix it...we were informed by the Pfc that there officer had just graduated and enlisted. that she was a dunts which worried us marines especially when she ordered her ppl to let her drive the tank which ran into a corner of a building and had bend the bullet shield and might have damaged the gun tube...

we looked at there wpns the tank and the 50 cal. our sgt ordered every marine to look at the 50 cal and if we knew what was wrong with it... each marine laughed at the obvious malfunction it was missing its guts the entire firing mechanism,, the army had been going outside the wire for 2 weeks with that problem..
we gave a crash course in wpn operations for about an hour reported there officer and refused to let them leave till we were satisfied that they knew what they were doing... oh we also provided new firing mecahnism for their 50 cal and had each member practice firing it and repairing it in case it malfunction in mid combat..

In the school 🙄 Or at least no one ever used them.

This is pretty interesting, actually. Even if he is lying, which at this point I don't think he is, he describes it in a realistic enough way to be interesting. 😄

For me: snipers. There's a stereotype that they're a bunch of cold-blooded killers for taking the job in the first place, but they're just regular people who have a job to do.

But pilots are the cockiest, rowdiest assholes in the service.

I think the average age today is 23.

I was a tank mechanic, so when it comes to weapons I only received basic training in standard weapons like the M-16.

i and my armory ppl spend a lot of time playing halo against some sniper guys on there off time, loved their commitment..

even on their off time they would look for an armory to check and clear there wpns for malfunctions.. and pull a chair to plays a shooter game..

even if you offered them proper quarters to sleep or rest they would perfer to stay and sleep in our armory..

i guess its the respect of combat oriented military personal.. they would seek weapon knowledge, we would go off to the hills and fire weapons ours and theirs.. regardless of military branch of army navy, marine and even private contractors.. if you are combat personal then we are equals mentality.. non of that branch war bull..

of course we had satellite tv and web access through our hook ups and connections and racks to sleep in. we are very resourceful when it comes to it building things out of nothing in the desert..

might have had something to do with them staying with us..

You commented on how the "Army can be pretty bad at discipline", would you care to divulge exactly what you meant about that particular company concerning discipline?

i have in my possession pictures of army women in compromising acts that are frequently passed around in iraq for trade for goods...
some of them have high ranking ppl like Snco involved drinking partying with their jr members that is a no no... i also made a comment about an army officer and gave my experience of them in my earlier post.. granted i cant generalize all members of the branch but it has bn my personal experience..

post the pics.

i cant do that.. its against forum rules.. but if u search the web u can find a lot of nude military women i had one of my female sgt that we used to pass around when i was a junior member marine.. she was hot and i could never be around her long because i would become aroused... 🙂

Do you have any pictures of yourself in uniform?

yes.. my favorite one is with chuck ...i really wont post any that has my name and rank... because well i dont like having my pics flying around in the internet..

if you pm me your email ill sent it to you

we are not allowed to date within our rank structure .. its like saying dipping within the company ink it can get you court marshalled and get your rank taken away depending in rank.. if your an officer with an enlisted more then likely will get you kicked out, if you are an enlisted it will get your rank taken away..

you can not date within your work area... you can date so long as the person is a part of another unit without any links to your chain of command..

I served with some US marines in Desert Storm (I´m British) we swapped with them a few times to for experience & all that (we went with their corps for a couple of weeks and them with ours), and I was amazed how thick and lacking common sense most of them were, they couldn´t be left to do any task without being supervised. Most of them were into body building, more brawn than brain, although we ran them into the ground because of this on marches🙂.

Apart from that a great bunch of blokes to have a laugh with, but not to go into battle with.

If I was thinking of joining the military I´d join a trade so you can learn something whilst risking your life, being able to kill people isn´t very usefull when you leave the military.

Hmm so your British soldier Bicnarock and you went with American soldiers and found them bad soldiers or something? ive heard British soldiers are some of the best but is this true that they are better than American in skill, dicipline etc?

Same question to you Wild shadow

My grandmother-in-law was Army Wife of the Year once. She excelled in the art of hosting parties in which prominent military people attended. My question is, what does it take to be Army Wife of the Year nowadays? I would assume that in today's P.C. world, the recipient would no longer be required to be female. Sooo, do I stand a good chance or what?
