we are not allowed to date within our rank structure .. its like saying dipping within the company ink it can get you court marshalled and get your rank taken away depending in rank.. if your an officer with an enlisted more then likely will get you kicked out, if you are an enlisted it will get your rank taken away..

you can not date within your work area... you can date so long as the person is a part of another unit without any links to your chain of command..

So tell me, who would you most trust at your back in combat? A straight man, a gay man, or a woman?

My grandmother-in-law was Army Wife of the Year once. She excelled in the art of hosting parties in which prominent military people attended. My question is, what does it take to be Army Wife of the Year nowadays? I would assume that in today's P.C. world, the recipient would no longer be required to be female. Sooo, do I stand a good chance or what?

Just as long as you don't tell. 😄

Not true. You can date within the same command, as long as you are not directly in the chain of command. A senior can date a junior that works in a different department.

well marines were modeled after the british royal navy.. we give props to you guys as the best of marines the royal marines are hard core..

what kinda marines were they that you were attached to, what was their MOS?

most marine are more into body building and strength not speed..

although your average grunt is build for speed and maneuverability and indurance. not strength makes me sad that the marines you met weren't up to you guys challenge..

the most discipline ppl i met were the nigerian soldiers. they took whatever job given no matter how insignificant or unimportant one might think it was seriously..

to be a good military wife 1st think dont cheat on your husband period after that its how much butt kissing you do with parties and higher ups, fundraisers church gathering care packaging...

i have a joke in the military i tell my guys when i hear them with their gay bashing talk.. i tell them i rather have a gay guy watching my 6 in a combat hole. if we are surrounded and i take a shot, i would hope he likes me or has a crush on me. he'll fight tooth and nails to protect someone he loves and might take some shots meant for me...

🙂

Do you believe that the military should have allegiances to the country, it's principles, and its people, or to its leaders and benefactors (and don't say they're one and the same, that's a very communist viewpoint)?

And before you start questioning me about my patriotism and who i am, i will say that i am a recent veteran of the civilian service and have served my community, state, and country and am contemplating a second year. I just think its a valid question to ask particularly with the way things have been devolving in this country, really since the 80's.

well, my personal believe is that as a marine i am supposed to obey the orders of my president...but having said that, my allegiance will always belong to the people and my country and not just an individual government leader or political figure..

if lets say all of a sudden they ordered martial law without rhyme or reason, and i was ordered to shoot american civilians that were protesting and gathering in mass.. i would disobey the order and probably turn my wpn against those enforcing illegal orders and stand beside the ppl...

just saying hypothetically.... if something like that ever happened..

i have in the passed disobeyed orders that i felt were questionable and received reprimands and just as likely bn praised for standing up to my chain of command, granted they were small insignificant orders.. but i will not be a personal driver to a higher up because he ordered me or pick up their dry cleaning.. or work on their house cause they found out i was a certified contractor before i joined..

i never feared my drill instructors in boot camp even though they always threaten to kick our butts..

i always figured my mom yelled a whole not worse and had dirtier vocabulary then any marine instructor or ops ppl.. she actually could kick my butt in combat. she is mexican not blk but close enough imagine a blk woman..

remember one time i was 17 and i told her off cause i had ditched school.. she was on me like white on rice jabs hooks uppercuts and i was in such fear of my life that i tried to push her off me.. all that happen was she side step me and put me in a choke hold and told me she couldn't believe that i tried to touch her... right before passing out

I was never in the military, but when I was 19 I got a DWI and was sentenced to first offenders boot camp for three months. My DI was an ex Marine, and after it was all over, he was talking to us, saying we should be proud, that we just finished three months of what was basically Marine boot camp.

MAN those DI's were tough.

they are pussy cats its all show and false confidence given to them by their authority and job description.... try running into them at a bar majority of time they are the 1st to apologize to you.... ran into mine in diego he was my jr drill instructor he was a Ssgt by then and i was corporal... kept giving me dirty looks cause he couldnt place my face i knew who we was and i confronted him with what the hell he was looking at he backed down and apologize for the look.... later my buddiest ask me if i knew the guy i told him he had bn my instructor..

I ran into mine in a club and he got me drunk haermm

Hmm so your British soldier Bicnarock and you went with American soldiers and found them bad soldiers or something? ive heard British soldiers are some of the best but is this true that they are better than American in skill, dicipline etc?

Same question to you Wild shadow

Im an Ex soldier🙂 And I didn´t say they were bad soldiers 😄.

Just the ones I met were a bit on the thick side. Maybe thats the way they want them, killing machines as cannon fodder.

As for comparing both army´s, you can´t. The US have a different approach due to their firepower and their military size. And individual soldiers are different in many ways, you can´t generalize like that.

They work well together and learn from each other though.

I think the main thing to emphasize is that its important to learn a decent trade when joining the military, there are lots of options and possibilities (US & UK). Otherwise your a civilian one day and you might end up on the street.

Another thing is, you have a higher than normal chance of getting killed, injured or seeing unpleasant things which might effect you physiologically, a lot of people don´t consider this when joining.

how is British boot camp? what does your training consist of?

The wake up every morning and piss on the American flag.

Boot camp as in Basic training?

It depends what unit your going for, the Royal Marines recruit training for example, is the longest basic modern infantry training programme of any NATO combat troops.

More info HERE

HERES some info on "P- company" the Parachute Regiments training course.

Theres various other regiments and corps which have less rigorous training.

Im a Marine...and so far I hate it. I don't know...I mean at first I thought it was the Corps., but then I realized it's the people in it that make it so bad. They're so ****ing stupid.

Like seriously. I'm very liberal and I'm just getting used to the lifestyle...not even. Everyone thinks I'm belligerent, have an attitude problem, whatever. But like I said, it's hard. I only been in for a year and I have come to the conclusion that I have 3 years left of this shit, so I gotta just smile and kiss ass to make it without and NJP.

you sound very similar to a younger version of me.... it is the ppl i personally dont excpect anything cause they will let you down... most military ppl cant uphold their oath or honor.. just ignore and do the best you can till you get out... assume every negative thing about them and they wont dissappoint you, but yup kiss ass to get ahead get the best jobs or assignments to get out of your section or company even battallion.
