military questions

Started by siriuswriter4 pages

I blame this question on an aging hippie Vietnam Vet who was my history teacher and had us watch "Full Metal Jacket" in class as sophomores. So... yes. Background.

Is boot camp the type of horror show that is presented to us in the media?

no.... the media edited the swearing, or the D.I.'S hide the fact of swearing, assaulting humiliating with certain comments or observations... torture exercise the media never sees that kind of stuff or ppl would b in the brig or mass media story although there are always a lot of D.I.'s that have been sent to the brig and bn caught or turned in by recruits for certain things that are past criminal... marines tend to smile as pay back, when we hear stories of D.I.'s getting caught assualting or doing something criminal. kinda like getting revenge for our past experience with them pricks.... most marines dont even respect D.I. they are considered like teachers those that do, do and those that dont teach..

and i am sure they dont show the 10 seconds of chow.... sit down eat!!! stop!!! your done get up get out!!!!!!... ppl suffer from malnutrition and muscle mass... i lost 25 lbs and was put on double rats in my last month of booth camp and i was a jock my whole life. came in looking like a bad ass wolverine and came out looking like a 14 yr old skinny kid..took me 3 months for my body to recuperate its mass and muscles.. if your a real athlete boot camp will destroy your physical abilities if your a fatbody it will help you drop weigth and if you are average then it will help improve your body... basically it drops ppl to the same lvl of equality and in D.I. talk that is NASTY, AND GARBAGE.... for a very long time i hated the military not because it was hard but that i had constantly train to keep in shape because our training was low to what my body was used to. it was the whole point i had joined get paid to workout.

I hate to disagree with ya brother but your "those that do, do and those that dont teach.." Is total BullS**t . When you are in the Marine Corps there are two Duties All Marines must do, D.I. and/or Recruiting.
The Marines that pic D.I. are Hard MF'ers. They Have to train 10 times harder than a recruit because they have to run circles around the recruits and be able to do every thing the Boots do but better. So they could have chose Recruiting Duty but didnt so. I had mad respect for them. And they were tryng to make us Killing Machines ,prepared fro War , so what they did was not personal and i would never get off on one of them losing their career because some shitbird felt like he was wronged and reported some of these tuff they did to us. I had an incident were the D.I. gave me a concussion , I went to sick-call and told them It happened in training. Well when I got in the FMF i was called by a Colonel from F.M.J.P. about the incident because some idiot reported it. I told the Colonel that it happened in training. If I told the truth It would have ruined SSgt. Jones career and I would never have done that.

But I do remember the chow hall. "Ok ladies you have 30 seconds....ready.....EAT ....30,27,23,19,15,12,9,5,3,1,Your Done." so you got about 10 seconds LOL

You're wrong.

You have the respect and appreciation of tens of millions of Americans.

Thanks. I guess you're right.

Yeah I put that I served in Sarajevo in 93 and Bosnia 94 . E-5, Squad leader of 2 fire teams. Never earned a Purple Heart Thank God but I put all that. I dont think Civies care. But thats great that it helped you. These are different times. When i was in(Im Ancient) the military involvement was not so popular. No Patriotic fervor like it is now.

Civilians don't care...then again, should they?

i really dont think they do..... sometimes its just a hallow gesture and a hand shake... often times i just want to beat them to a pulp or simply b left alone then to hear their.. insincere gratitude... or even day dream of shooting them..

jack nickleson said it best......

Well, maybe they don't really 'appreciate' it, but I've gotten enough free dinners in restaurants and free drinks in bars to know that at least some do. I have no problem with civilians.

i really hate them all..... i am sorry to say. i believe ppl should take pride in their appearance. and help build a better society thru polite and courteous manners... instead of the rude attitude ppl have because they feel laws will protect them and excuse their behavior from repercussions..

also hate the whole favortism and nepotism our country seems to suffer from.. if it was up to me i would take useless members of society who have no appreciation of the freedoms they enjoy and double tap them... hand the rest of the ppl the tools for hard working americans who struggle and cant seem to get ahead. and know the concept of hard work.
