H2: Halloween 2

I thought it'd take a little longer to come out since I only found out about the news this year, has it been planned for a while now? I thought they had only just started filing which I thought usually took longer

Rob Zombie talked to MTV Movies Blog about the film's score and his overall approach to the subject matter.

"About the classic theme music we all associate with HALLOWEEN, Zombie says, "We haven’t gotten to that point yet so we could change our minds, but we want to do something totally different. The movie is very raw and very rough looking so the score has to [reflect that]." When asked if he might return to his heavy metal roots, he thankfully replied, “No, I wouldn’t do anything like that. We’re going to have to find a really sort of dissident ambient score. Unsettling rather than traditional."

As for the characters themselves, Zombie promises we'll see "people who have kind of gone crazy, and they’re all dealing with their insanity in different ways. Laurie was the withdrawn character, and now she’s sort of the outgoing crazy character. Annie was more outgoing; now she’s very much almost like agoraphobic, afraid to leave the house. Sheriff Brackett is a wreck; he’s like one year from retiring so he can just go to the funny farm. Dr. Loomis is in complete denial about everything, exploiting the situation and making as much money as possible while hating himself."

That sounds cool enough, but I know you're all asking the same question MTV did: What does he have in mind for Tyler Mane's interpretation of Michael Myers? Maybe Zombie's response will reassure you a bit: “Michael is crazier than ever."

Rob Zombie also updated his official MySpace page with news that Weird Al Yankovic will be in the upcoming sequel. "Be afraid... be very afraid. Weird Al rolls into Haddonfield as well Weird Al a guest of THE NEWMAN HOUR - a local talk show. The other guest that night is Dr. Loomis hawking his new book THE DEVIL WALKS AMONG US... let's just say things get weird."

I'm looking forward to this, hopefully it'll be a good one...sure your really excited about it MP 😛 I know how much you LOVED the first remake

Adored it!

As you now all now, the role of the young Michael Meyers in Rob Zombie's forthcoming HALLOWEEN sequel had to be recast. Chase Vanek is the new boy.

"Chase has been kicking ass on set and we are sure you will love him as much as we do. Chase's favorite question to ask me is "When do I get to kill someone ?" Kind of reminds me of another young Michael I used to know." Shooting is now underway in Georgia with Dimension Films lining the release for August 28th.

Should be able to find a photo online easily enough.

They are recasting the part of the boy? I thought the first remake dealt with the boy issue and now it was just the adult Michael we were seeing from here on out? Btw Daeg is a lovely boy, a real child prodigy. I spoke to him a few times and he seems friendly and cool.

Must be having a number of flashbacks again.

That would explain it, I had not thought of that.

I don't think that what they had in the first were flashbacks...you just get to see where it began and then...few years later whats happening with Mike

when is this sequel coming out?

Sometime this year

cool thanks for the reply. I am somewhat looking forward to it. The remake was quite good hope this one doesn't let it down. Not too sure about that title though. Could confuse a lot of people.

Yeah...think it's august but not 100% sure

Yes it's August, I KNOW EVERYTHINGGGGGG. No really, that's the date they are going by at the moment, but all could change.

I know everything, you know a little 😄

Hmm like the first film..interesting choice...again.

I think this sequel has a potential to do better than the original sequel but ya never can tell

I actually know very little about this one in terms of actors involved and basic plot.

There's a few links a few pages back so you could catch up with some info from them

Does it say why they are casting a new kid to be Young Michael when the first remake clearly covered that time frame? Did they ask Daeg or did they just decide to go with a new kid?

I believe someone new since the kid who played mike is too old...apparantly Teenage mike can't be played by...get this...a teenager, seriously if they have more childhood scenes then I doubt it can be more from when he was 12...or maybe it's from when he was 4 and killed some ant's...thats a future murderer right there
