I always feel like slapping the morons that sport a "The South Will Rise Again" bumper sticker, shirt or what have you, though I don't see many in my area.
I have to address two things.
1. Germany had no choice. Economically they were being stifled to the point of complete starvation. What they wanted was to preserve themselves. Any Sovereign nation would do this. They wanted the Port city of Danzig so they could have some Gross National Product and what they wanted was German. The Sudaten land in Czechoslovakia was German. Hitler pleaded and petitioned the League of Nations many time for this land peacefully but it was denied. For you out there that know anything about History, Russia invaded Poland at the same time and took 80% of it. All Germany wanted was a Port to the Baltic. When Germanys please fell on deaf ears they took action. When Germany did this ,England and France declared War On Germany. England and France were not prepared for War so was Germany to sit back and wait for them to strengthen???? NO They did not . They Attacked and they were villainiesed for it.
2. The "South" in the Civil War in America was completely in their Constitutional right to break away or sucede from the Union. The North was Putting economic strains on them and they saw unfair. Slavery was a very Minor issue. The Emancipation Proclamation only freed the slaves of the South. At that time there were still 4 million slaves in the North. So people that think the Civil war was about "Slavery" are gravely mislead.

Actually the Nazis are usually demonized for that little Holocaust thingy. Now a days the issues of what caused WWII are taught to people and the whole thing wasn't exactly presented as "Germany Attacked for no Reason" in my school.

I'm not sure if this is still true, but at one point the German army taught their soldiers that if Germany was ever subverting into a totalitarian state, that it was every soldier's responsibility to foster a coup and that any soldier who said that the thought that the July Bomb Plot against Hitler was wrong and that Colonol Von Stuaffenberg wasn't a hero was immediatly dishonorably discharged.

Thing is about America, Spend Billions on developing this weapon and nobody to play with.
Pearl harbour gave them an excuse to let the toys do there thing.

I'm more interested in how it's taught in America. A lot of them seem to be under the impression they won the war. In reality they didn't bother about it for years until they got attacked by Japan. Germany being allies with Japan were stupid enough to declare war on the U.S even though they were fighting a losing battle in Europe while being raped by Russia and it's freezing winter.
