Assassins Creed 2

Started by That ACDC Chick12 pages

also it helps that the civilians dont get in the way as much as they did in the first
when you had to save the citizen in the first assassination, i damn near killed them myself trying to hit one of the bad guys

Has anyone else discovered how to use Altair's armour from the first game in this game yet? Very nostalgic, however, the lack of detail is still a deterrent 😛

That's almost an unfair comparison. Mercer has super powers, of course he's better at getting from place to place.

And the items in AC allow people to have super powers, as well. (TK, clairvoyance, shooting energy, body multiplication, mind control...there's really more super powers in AC than in Prototype.)

Somethings work better in other games. Can't blame me for getting frustrated at clunky, slow, and retarded movement.

Yes. Getting Altair's amour is one of the easier things to do. All you have to do is "activate" lookout points. After you do that, it actually shows you were the assassin's tombs are. From there, just do some Prince of Persia shit, and you'll get the item.

I believe you have to find all codex pages, beat all Assassin's tombs, and find all hidden marks on the wall, in order to unlock the final end sequence in the game.

Nope. You misunderstand me. That was just his "armour" and from what I can tell, it really doesn't change the look of Ezio all that dramatically. Whereas the one I am referring to actually changes the entire apperance of Ezio to that of Altair, hood, missing finger (I think), blan outfit and all.

To make it a little clearer...you go from looking like the one on the right...to the one on the left:

I fail to see how that makes it a fair comparison. The only thing that would even remotely help with movement is the Telekinesis.

I can't even see how it's clunky, slow, or retarded. God forbid we can't jump off walls and smash cars out of the way in a game set mostly during the Italian Renaissance.

you have to download it off of Uplay for 30 points

Yup! I just wanted to see if anyone else knew about it, if not, I would have gotten them to do it, just for kicks 😛

Can't read much in here because I don't want spoilers, but I just started playing this and I'm maybe 10% of the way through. I've had some pathfinding frustrations as I tell Ezio to do one thing and he jumps somewhere else (or falls, or climbs, or...) but for the most part it's a more polished experience than the first one, and all the cool stuff is still there.

The stupid mini-games for stupid .2 second video clips are stupid though. But I barely consider that part of the game, so it doesn't detract much for me.

Well they are some of the most important aspects of the over-all story, and they being there and hidden in that matter all makes sense, so I think you'll enjoy them mor ealong the way (until the third or second to last one, ****ings impossible, you need Google for it).

^I looked through like, five f*cking youtube channels to find a coherent enough walkthrough of the last ones. That may be partially why I didn't find them to detract from the experience, mainly because as you said, the whole thing really does work to explain the major factors of the story (even during the puzzles themselves when you look at the more plausible fan theories of certain aspects). Some of them were outright creepy too. That added to it.

I realize they're important. If they weren't, I would've ditched finding them after about the 2nd or 3rd one. It was just implemented in a way that doesn't feel like a natural part of the game. Even the idea of Subject 16 implanting the memories there....that's cool. Just the dumb minigames and the miniscule payoff for each one makes it frustrating.

There's more games to come in the series. I wouldn't expect this game to answer all the questions posed.

Continued good times with the game. It just feels so cool to play, even with niggling problems here and there. I wish there were more sequences outside the Animus though...learning little bits as Desmond was one of my favorite parts of the first game.

I also just discovered that there are some freaking beautiful AC costumes out on the market. Most are around $300 (US), and it goes up from there. But they rock. I may need to invest in some of this for a future Halloween costume.

Just beat the game. It was excellent, imo. By the end of the experience, they had answered nearly every one of my problems with the first in the series. I still felt like too much of a tank sometimes. You're a skilled assassin, ok. But I never, ever, felt in danger of dying during battle sequences. I'd get injured during the larger encounters, but with health packs (15 by the end) being easy to access and plentiful, there was never any real sense of danger. That doesn't seem like a mechanic they're attempting to correct, however, so I'll probably just have to live with it in future installments.

Mission variety was great, however, as was the story and entire game world. I actually expected to have more questions at the end, but the premise was cleared up rather cleanly by the ending sequence. Soundtrack was great too. Always a plus. I will probably end up purchasing it.

God!... I forgot about this game 😐

I was really looking forward to it, but I stop playing my 360 in ... October, I think. I never gotten around to purchasing it...

might give a try later... once I'm done with FFXIII 🙂

Did anyone get the D.L.C. for this?

I got it recently and it seems glitched to all Hell. I've done some Googling and it appears I'm not the only one.

It is something you need to ''buy'' on uplay. It is bought by credits that you earn doing random shit in the game - you need xbox Live silver - MINIMUM.
Then you get to do all the double blade shit, climb jump and swimming, but looking exactly like Altair. Heh...

Unfortunately, they didn't include it as a default unlockable part of the game....the bastards.

.....

I liked the gameplay, and random gimmicks Ezio had, but character wise, I prefer Altair - first being the biggest arrogant bastard there was, then being the biggest tool ever imagined and in the end growing up. Ezio was a fun character, but I prefer my assassins to be emotionless drones.

I also hated the ending in the AC2 - it felt lazy and kind of all over the goddamned place.

I just begun replaying the first one again... I hope Altair makes more than a cameo appearance in the third one.

Because going from arrogant to wise and f*cking a chick on top of a castle suggests a lack of emotion...

I think he was a well developed character bearing in mind the sotry was not about Altair specifically - he is, however, in comparison to Ezio's flamboyant-ness rather an emotionless drone.

Also, I felt Altair was not as hot-headed as Ezio...he was all business.

So, in comparison to the Italian Lover, to me, Altair seemed a lot less emotion filled and more assassiny...he WAS the assassin, rather than just doing that in his spare time...

The two characters are barely comparable. Altair was an assassin from the start - it's what he always trained to do. Ezio was a spoiled rich boy who only started to train as an assassin after his family was killed. So of course Altair was far more business-like and less hotheaded than Ezio. That's the entire point. They are not meant to be alike at all.

I was actually stating my opinion of which of the two I prefer better - the story wise and the character wise.
It is not a comparison of ''alikeness'' but my personal preference and a reason for the preference.

The only actual thing that amuses me in connection to Assassin's Creed (other than playing the game) is that Francisco Randez lives not too far away from me.
Altair as a neighbour FTW.

Other than that, Ubisoft can do their thing in the next one - I will still buy it and play it, I like the game. Although I may egg their windows if next Altair descendent gets any fruitier.

😍 Real life Altair 😍
