Favourite Director/Producer?

I did a search but didn't find anything 😮

I, personally, enjoy movies by Luc Besson 😛 He's got one great imagination. Yamakasi, Fifth Element, Taxi. Those aren't particularly... DEEP movies, but they make me laugh no matter how many times I watch them.

Guy Ritchie and Quenting Tarantino come right after him though 😮

Guy Ritchie referring only to two brilliant comedies he made: Snatch and Lock Stock. Those are GREAT 😂

What about you all?

Hmm..

Jean Pierre-Jeunet
Luc Besson
Stephen Chow
George Romero
Steven Spielberg
Clive Barker
Jerry Bruckheimer ( Don't shoot!)
George Lucas
David + Jerry Zucker
Jim Abrahams
Pat Proft
Peter Jackson
James Cameron
John Carpenter
Wes Craven
Ridley Scott
Stu Gordon
Tim Burton

..and there's some guys that have directed just a movie or two, only to fade into obscurity, which I did like,

George A. Romero

STEVEN SPEILBERG

( Pj aint done enough movies that i know of for him to make my list)

Tim burton
David Fincher
Quentin tarantino
Steven speilberg

omg_smilie

I can't believe i forgot to mention Stanley Kubrick.

👆 Clockwork Orange + The Shining

Alfred Hitchcock is one of my all time favourites, along with Dario Argento, Quentin Tarantino, David Lynch, David Cronenberg, John Woo and Ingmar Bergman.

I like many many different directors in different ways, so list would be long like Cines.

Zhang Yimou is gradually getting nearer to my favourite directors, wonderful films, seen about six of his films so far. The Road Home is sweet.

Also can't forget 2046 director Wong Kar Wei, enjoyed 2046. Fabulous films from him.

Several years ago, I would have said George Lucas was GOD.

Now, I'm not quite sure what to call him. Something with four letters maybe?

Robert Zemekis(sp)
Sergio Leone
Spielberg

all threads on directors that all come up on the first page of the search for "favorite director"

oh jolly 😮 I searched for 'director' and found nothing.

go ahead, blame me cry

Tim Burton
Quentin Tarantino
Robert Rodriguez

Here's mine:

George Lucas (so mixed on this - but he gets the vote because of his orogianl Star Wars movies)
Ridley Scott (Alien 1 & 2 have possibly the best directed horror sequences I can think of)
James Cameron (Terminator 2 is one of my fave movies ever)
Steven Spielberg (brilliant accessable movies)
Tim Burton (Beetlejuice was a childhood fave of mine)

Yeah, I like all the biggies, mainly because these guys truly know how to truly wow an audience.

You sure you don't have Bruckheimer and Tarantino confused? 😂

Bruckheimer made Bad Boys 2 and Pearl Harbour right? 😆

Ridley Scott didn't direct Aliens by the way, only the first one. The second one was down to James Cameron.

Takashi Miike

I love his films, really enjoyed his attempt at a Ringu type film, One Missed Call, some good scenes in this film.

Please go into more detail why you don't like him, apart from over rated and crap films.

I could write all day about why i dont like his films. Mainly coz hes ripped off everything and made a new version of it.
And before you say anything.
(a) It isnt anything new because its all been done before.
(b) No his films are not out of respect of the classic ones, their crap and if his films didnt do so well then he would be classed as a crap director for ripping off everything.

All hes done is taken good films from other countries and made them with american actors. Thats it
