Dante vs Link

Alright. But if I understand you correctly that still leaves open a canon reaction to lightning.

Problem. In order to defeat Agahnim, Link has to reflect his attacks. Meaning that you see him charging up an attack and get the **** in the way. And right up until the lightning, the charging animations are identical.

And still,

^ Neph, though I don't like to admit it, brought up a valid point about lightning not lasting long enough in that form for fire to start around it.

Fire would start moments after the bolt has disappeared.

Though its possible to argue that he's magically keeping the bolt continuous to try to break Link's guard.

It does look continuous to me. And in game it lasts a little while, maybe half a second or so. Meh, I've never been too serious about the lightning timing, mostly because of how hard it is to gather evidence for.

All I know it that the pic shows Link blocking a lightning attack, or at least an attack similar to lightning.

At the very least, has he reacted to things at Dante's level of speed? Lightning speed is exponentially faster than Dante's speed; it wouldn't really matter if Link could not react to it, as long as he could react to high end hypersonic stuff.

Fire being made on floor tiles? Sure its not the energy ball he's shooting?

Outside of this lightning timing all Link has that I remember is cutting arrows out of the air or shooting them with other arrows.

Still bugs me that Link's shown human reaction in scenes where he was ready, like when he failed to keep track of Zant..

I dn't know of anything else, really. As I said, this kind of thing is difficult.

So then, Link a Lightning-timer when plot calls for it? 313

Thats the problem with past handheld games. Hard to get proper feats. If its any kind of lightning shots then wouldn't Blitz from DMC count?

Defeating a character who can use lightning doesn't make you a lightning timer, just as beating someone with a gun doesn't make you a bullet-dodger.

I would say it depends on the Link, since each tends to have their own feats and things. Wind Waker Link, for example, is one of the most durable little bastards I have ever seen, and he's likely the most agile. TP Link is the strongest naturally, though OoT Link is stronger with amps. ALttP or AoL Link has some of the better magic stuff. They are different people, after all.

Though most of them don't face stuff above arrow speed, except for when things jump up to lightning and lasers.

All I know is, if Nintendo doesn't give Link a more clear superhuman baseline in Skyward Sword, I will give up debating for him against top meta game characters. And I will rage.

Unless Link is really godly in Skyward Sword, Dante pulls the trigger and Link's brain exits from the back of his head.

Actually Link has stupid speed because he can dodge a whip, putting him at least on Young Indiana Jones levels. Dante just has no chance. 😛

Oh wow I love that stuff! Wait a minute, what's this hook doing here?

Does Dante's gun have any feats at all out of curiosity?

I remember seeing his bullet fail to harm a billiard ball once. Then again...

Billiard ball was for a trick shot.

Lets see, they can fire at a machine gun pace each (matched Lady's Uzi) and can fire at Mach 2. (Matched Nero's gun thats a customised version of a gun that fires at just under Ma2)

1:28 That guys around Mundus' level to show the strength of the shot. Also shows how much Dante's increase for being able to effortlessly dispose of him compared to how he faired with Mundus.

Only one clip was with both guns and only the last one was a charged shot.

0:45, gotta be a few miles at least.

And just for consistencey's sake:

1:15, this is a really serious one, too.

2:10, not as far as the first two, but it was the first one chronologically.

As I said before; Wind Waker Link: Durable little bastard.

Is a good display. Though where he smacks into a wall, E&I can blast huge holes in one.

Any for OoT? [The one in discussion now]

I wasn't aware we'd picked a specific Link, hence all the Link to the Past and stuff.

2:45. I would say Link being unphased by Ganondorf obliterating the top floor of the tower is pretty good.
