Wow, really? Marlboro's are pretty tame to me. However, I have to remember that in the grand ol' U.S. of A., so many products are tweaked out to such strong levels so that people will keep buying said product.

You have stronger ones?!
Let me know some stronger/better cigarettes. What do you smoke?

Have you tried left handed cigarettes?

"I want to quite but I've no idea where to start.".

Stopping?

Pretty much ends with your decision to not light up a cigarette.

And how much have you smoked in your life? Ever try and quit?

I haven't had to quite smoking, but I was once addicted to rx drugs, and that was a hell of hard to get through.

I'm not going to be like "oh that's so much more addictive," because i've never smoked and so don't know the withdrawl routine.

Mine was headaches, not being able to sleep, being paranoid, stomaches, stomach sickness... the list goes on. it ttook me about two months, so maybe it's a shorter time period? i dunno. mostly i just treated to the symptoms. take tylenol for headache, not tylenol three. take maalox or tums instead of some oxycontin to knock me out. for jitters and just the "it's not fair, this is so hard, just gimme some DRUGS" bit, i just went into a dark room and watched a movie i hadn't for a long time, not for getting, of course, an ice pack and a plain towel for the sweats.

I got through it mainly with "sheer will." I didn't go off cold turkey, I asked someone to watch my progress, and I stll get the urge to "JUST TAKE SOMETHING" because I'm remember how nice it was was to have the slip away, dreamy feeling.

So keep up if you're trying, wean yourself off if you feel you can, that's a big help to be like, oh, i only smoked two cigs today and yesterday i smoked a pack.

but whatevs. I congratulate those who have/are trying to quit.

That doesn't work, does it? Because what I said is true. If you're lighting up cigarettes when you want to quit, you're the one to blame. Throw all your cigarettes out of the house, don't buy any. There are many ways to not smoke, and if you're not doing them then you obviously don't want to quit much.

It's like suicide attempts. If you genuinely wanna die, there're ways to make it happen.

The fact that people quit heroin makes me laugh at people who say they can't quit smoking or don't know how. People just wanna have a massive pat on the back and feel like they've done great work.

-AC

^the withdrawel from heroin is much smaller in length than with smoking.

It's arguable whether smoking actually has "withdrawals" at all.

Sure, you feel the need to smoke, but I've never seen someone curl up in a ball and get the shakes because of a lack of nicotine.

dood, step off, seriously.

if you're addicted to anything, you will have withdrawls. smoking has become a part of your life, social scene, routine... so there's the the whole withdrawl part and then there's the whole 'oh sorry smoking friends, i can't go out with you. oh, why? because you make me want to smoke.'

so what you've seen is pretty limited. because i know a couple people who have smoked for a long time and are now trying to quit, and all an outsider can do is just be there.

addiction actually is listed as a disease. there's a new neuron path that runs through your brain when you do something repeatedly. So by the time you want to quit, that neuron path is very much like a worn trail in high grass, and why would you want to make a new trail when it would take such hard work and the old trail is so easy?

obviously, it's the addict's fault to go to the point of "i can't live without blank," then you need help.

and don't think i can't be hard-ass on some people, that it's all
peace love harmony. everything depends on the situation.

so if you know the situation behind the people you're telling "na na na, you're so wimpy that you can't quit!" then go ahead. but i'm guessing you don't know the complete situations of all smokers at large, so try to be a little more unbiased.

lmao, uve never been a smoker then.

Regardless, there are people that manage to stop, all it comes down to seems to be willpower, at least in the case of cigarettes. And, I can understand that many find it annoying that people that quit smoking celebrate themselves and wear it like a badge of honour.

Personally I don't care...the more celebration the better.

I agree with AC. Probably because I'm an insensitive prick. 😐

It's your own damn fault for smoking.

Now, saying that...I'm probably addicted to sex. 😐 I will NOT give it up. (lol...pun) I don't have to. It helps stave off prostate cancer! 😠 DON'T JUDGE ME!

^but ur married so it doesnt count.

I think no one denies that it is their damn fault. One might argue though that it is an immense portrayal of willpower to quit...for some at least.
