I honestly would've done the same thing there, unless maybe I was one of the criminals on the other boat.

And Joker's never been much of a hand-to-hand fighter really, so I wasn't surprised about the metal pole thing and what not. At least he didn't die a pitiful death like Nicholson's Joker (edit: the character anyway, not the actor)...

had ledger lived the joker would have been in the sequel..

Chris Nolan speaks

Sounds like Nolan wants to make this his last Batman movie. Thats a bummer, but at least we'll probably get 1 more. I'm thinking (assuming the studio goes for a part 4) the next director should bring back Joker. It will be approaching about 8 years from Heath's death when a part 4 would likely be ready to come out.

I have one suggestion for some villians... ive heard the rumor that johnny depp might play the riddler but i personally believe that he would be a perfect recast for the joker. he and ledger look a lot alike and if u look at the many different roles and personalities that depp can pull off brilliantly i would love to see him take over for ledger. also i wouldnt mind seeein a harley quinn either just as long as she turns to be a little more dark like the joker was darker in the dark knight. not positive who could pull off the role of Quinn in the perfect way but if they could find someone i think that would make a great story for the continuation since they could have the joker at arhym and thats how quinn becomes a villian. any thoughts for who could play her? or thoughts bout anything ive said lol

I don't think I've seen any of her movies, so I don't know how I should feel about that rumor.

Warner Bros. wants there to be 7 Batman movies. This means that a new director will take over after Batman 3 if Nolan leaves.

Why 7? Why not 6? Why not 8?

They also want 7 Superman movies for the upcoming Superman reboot franchise.
