please no riddler.
I concur.
I've lessened my stance on Catwoman (though I hate her current portrayal, I like the Burton version best out of all other incarnations, she has depth) but I swear if Riddler's in I'll just curse up a storm and might actually decide not to see it in theaters.
And I'll puke if Harley Quinn makes ANY appearance at all.

Haven't they started making a script? If they started the script, they could be pretty sure it is the Riddler. And sometimes titles for movies are based out of something from the script, so it is very possible for Riddler to be written into the script without formed title for the movie.
unless i have missed something and where batman is concerned i never do, but if by chance i have and there is a script than i am wondering why no one on any site has talked about it..
If Riddler is in I'm glad Johnny Depp isn't the prime candidate. Nothing against him, but I'm sick of the guy. He's one of the most uninspired, unimaginative, and unoriginal casting suggestions. I would be very disappointed in Nolan if he went with such a lazy and predictable choice after his inspired casting for the last two films. I wanna be able to see the character not some overused redundant A-list actor.
Whenever an eccentric role comes up you got people saying "OMG! JOHNNY DEPP SHOULD PLAY THIS!" It seems like just because he expressed his interest in the role, people think he should get it. Makes me wonder if his name would even be coming up in the first place if he hadn't said that.
If JGL can't do it, I think James Franco would be a decent choice. He can play a sadistic role pretty well. And Nolan must like him considering he was gonna have JGL's role in Inception, but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. This could be their chance to finally work together.

Chris confirms that not only do they have a release date picked out for the next Batman in 2012, he’s hard at work writing the script

i've seen that, it just means he is working on the script, but yet the script isn't fully complete.. it should be i'd assume be complete and turned in for approval sometime soon

I never said they finished the script. I said they started the script, and it is likely from that script that it was determined that Riddler was the bad guy. They don't need a finished script to know the general direction they are headed.
but that is only if there aren't any rewrites etc.. when that article was written it doesn't give any specifics regarding whether or not the script was almost done or beginning to be half way done etc... until i actually see on a site that the script is officially complete, i will not believe the riddler is in the next film...
another thing too that bothers me is the fact that WB just lets out that the riddler is indeed in the next film , hope they aren't going sony/marvel on Nolan which would be a grave mistake on their part
another thing regarding the alleged script, why would Nolan and Co show them a partially written script, when so many things can happen before the finall one is written
I agree that it isn't 100% that the Riddler is in it at this point. I'm just saying, from the things I've read, it sounds like the idea is to at least try and include the Riddler. And I whole heartedly agree that it is a bad idea to go "Sony/Marvel" on Nolan and take away from his own creativity. Hopefully after Dark Knight and Inception they have enough trust in him to do it his way.

i guess we have to just wait and see...
Ultimately it doesn't matter who the villain/villains is/are, Nolan will pull it out of the bag yet again most likely. Some people were deriding Mr Freeze's freeze gun, how about swapping it for him attacking people with liquid nitrogen or administering a freezing compound of some sort? The liquid nitrogen thing is right up Nolan's alley I would think.
Also Talia would be a good choice given the connection to Begins.
What aout Man-Bat? As a secondary villain of course.

it matters to a lot of people.. some what riddler, others want catwoman, etc.. freeze won't be making an appearance in any Nolan Batman film, i do not believe.

talia should have been in batman begins, doubtfull she'll make an appearance.. Man Bat not in the realm that is Nolanverse
