Okay but the rise isn't really significant though lol. It's being made to be way more than it is, and it's strange that the same complaint is hurled at Antifa.

Fascism is NOT on the rise in America. See, this is what people do. We take an issue and then we inflate it to epic proportions. This is not going to be like nazi Germany at all, and yes I know Hitler didn't instantly come to power. I also know identity politics and playing the victim aided in their rise just as much as the horrible things they did. So if people are for some reason *that* worried, do not play into their hands.

This is not nazi Germany, we are nowhere near close to being nazi Germany. We are not perfect, but Americans(I know you are not one) do a disservice to our country if they try to say it is that bad when its not.

We have real problems here still, I can't understand why people have to take them up to over 9000.

Indeed, and it doesn't help. Take rape culture. Our own president(not the current one) cited false statistics in order to justify their "dear colleague" letter.

These stats came from a group that has openly asked people not to cite it without context.

I am not trying to turn this into a rape culture debate so we can avoid that, just the overall point is the most powerful person in the country pushed a lie in order to further an agenda that ended up doing more harm than good IMO. Since it's not like rape doesn't happen here, so there is no point to lie about it.

It pretty much is the perfect symbol for what this country is now. A bunch of pearl clutchers.

Well yeah, both sides do it. The Repubs got all whiny because trans people wanted to use the bathroom most safe and sensible for them like it was the end of the world, for example. There's no real discussion, just bitching and whining. The Rape Culture stuff is a good example of bad politics making a mockery of a very serious issue, the idea of a 'rape culture' is one that should be discussed, especially in the context of the larger world, e.g., Africa and the Middle East have got very prevalent rape cultures in many of the contained countries, so: how are we different to them, and how can we continue to improve? Stuff like that, rather than using fake stats and the like, which derails the argument. That being said, I think many on the right would probably derail the argument anyway, just as many those on the left would do the same in a different argument.

The world's ****ed, tbh. I just try to make it a policy to be as caring and understanding as possible.
