I have to disagree. I think we are constantly pattered with "Trump is racist, Trump is a nazi, Trump is a white supremacist" rhetoric. It is taken as fact. Racists then think they have this awesome racist now in the WH so they can act out more.But he's not racist IMO. He just plain words shit stupidly sometimes. I don't think he is racist against blacks or mexicans. But this is constantly pushed.
IMO I think people willingly ignore the fact that Trump is just this bombastic guy and not actually a racist. But they will freak out over anything he says that isn't worded perfectly. It's going to be a very long presidency because of that, because like Bash does to me here, they will twist anything Trump says in order to complain. Like when he called the NFL players kneeling sons of b*tches. "Oh he is attacking their mom!". Come on now. Also, Hitler didn't instantly get into power and ban everything, he spent ages talking about how the press constantly berated him first, calling them the lügenpresse (lying press, or fake news), and then found ways to become a dictator. Remember, Hitler was voted in.
Now, I personally don't think Trump would do that, but I think if he really did want to, he'd be able to stage a very subtle and slow and then probably not slow or subtle coup and take power, because he has all of the ultra-American-American on his side, the rednecks, the right-wing gun-nuts, the Nazis, they all love him. It would be possible. And while I don't think he will, I don't think he even really wanted to be president, I can see why people are concerned. And yeah, the ridiculously biased press aren't helping none, either, for either side.
