I mean, as I've said, you're applying your own limited human terms onto God, which is a mistake. I also believe a lot of how we interpret the Bible is off, due to translation errors and the like, and that includes the 'virgin' birth of Jesus

Like I say, idfk, man. All I know is that I wholeheartedly surrendered myself to Jesus and my depression disappeared, I had the strength to stop drinking, and my life had kept better ever since, all with a little bit of faith. Jesus did exactly that, though. He decried Jews who followed the rules 'just because they're the rules', and explained that all of these specific rules aren't as important as having that personal connection to the divine. Have you read the NT? It's basically just Jesus going around calling everyone a hypocrite for putting stock in rules whilst not actually living good lives.

I think the NT is the most important aspect, specifically the sections that deal directly with the Jesus narrative, so that's what I put the most stock into.
