Honestly tho, now that LoB is here, he's who you want to speak to. My faith is deeply personal, so talking about Christianity at large doesn't interest me all that much, as my own beliefs are often contrary to mainstream Christian beliefs.

Anyway, there are multiple ways to take 'cult' from those definitions. One is a general religious sense, the other is the more modern idea of a cult having sinister intentions. Then there are modern cults, which fit a general pattern of how they work, but that's a whole thing to get into (I did a lot of research into how modern cults of personality work once for a project)
