i don't agree. he's never been treated like that by writers or by any large number of fans. he's more often seen as the ******* leader than anything else.he's not like, say, peter parker, who while awkward as peter, got to express himself as spider-man. cyclops and scott are intertwined to the point that people who don't get on with cyclops rarely get on with scott either.

but he wasn't. he was the odd one out. beast was more like peter parker than cyclops ever was. he was specifically written by stan lee to be the least obviously interesting and least relatable.
it baffles me how you can think cyclops is supposed to be popular, when he's been the most hated x-men for years.
