~ Blackest Night - Discussion Thread ~

Spoiler:
In the beginning of the comic, we see the Atom talking to BL Hawkman. He's just about to come over, then the comic moves on. Then we see Hawkman at the end of the comic. Did I miss something?

Also what was up with the whole

Spoiler:
Dove
thing?

Wouldn't it be easier to add *Spoilers* to the title of this thread instead of people having to do it for every single post?

It seems as if only people who died unfulfilled can be brought back. Dove was at peace when he died, and he can't be brought back by the ring.

People who die in peace can't be resurrected. In other words people who are in heaven can be brought back. Souls who never found peace can be brought back to life.

I haven't read this months yet. Whats out so far?

Mastermind of Blackest Night revealed.

Thanks for the link. That cover to # 5 looks sweet. I love that battery/scythe.

Is it
Spoiler:
that they've all been resurrected?

Oh, yeah! I was wondering what connects them!

Anyone notice in the teaser image, and from John's interview

Spoiler:
Nekron is in chains, the Guardians tried to imprison Nekron like they did, Parallax, Agent Orange and Sinestro. All of them escaped. Nekron's turn, now. Also Nekron is using a black Lantern battery as a scythe, but John's confirmed that it's not the central battery and the image of Nekron is not to scale. He's not a giant.

Actually, in the interview, John(if that's his name) said that he is the first villain that they TRIED to imprison. Also, Sinestro, and AO were really never imprisoned either.

Yeah, but the Guardians must have had a chance at least. That's why Nekron's updated costume sports chains. Plus the Guardians must be no slouch. Although they struggled against Agent Orange, they had the Anti-Monitor on the ropes in the Sinestro Corps War, Ganthet subdued Parallax and they removed Superboy Prime from battle.

I reckon the Guardians abilities tend to fluctuate a lot, but they are pretty good at apprehending/subduing major threats which they tend to try a lot. They're sort of the prison wardens of the DCU.

Lol, at Spectre, God's wrath rewritten by a Black Ring.

"I want Hal Jordan back"

Suck a little more cock, Johns. Just a bit more.

I don't know about you but the recent showing of the Guardians have been all but strong. Against all those you mentioned, they either lost their lives, or were damaged
-Against Agent Orange, they lost guardians, and almost lost the corps. Their attacks were absorbed.
-Against AM, they damaged him, but Scar died
-Against Prime, they removed him from the field, but one guardian died to do so
-Against Parallax, Ganthet was his host. He was the only one to even acknowledge that it exist. No one else.

I don't know what the chains mean. None of us do yet, but I don't see how they could have stopped Nekron if he was supposed to be one of the strongest(if not the strongest) cosmic being.

All i have to say is Don Hall is a goody two shoes even in death that bastard.

I've always liked Donald Hall. The original Dove and Hawk were amazing.

good preview

I'm intrigued by this 'emotion vision' the BL's seem to have...

Not dancing about the Spectre-thing.

"I am god's vengeance.."

His stock has fallen so, so, so, so much over the last years. At least Phantom Stranger keeps up a consistent excuse, that he's not "allowed" to interfere. Spectre seems to be trying to play the same card, but he doesn't come off as awesome and mysterious, but pathetic. Stranger's able to do the whole "higher forces keep me from interfering" and keep his dignity intact at the same time.
