Seemed kind of a Deus Ex for them to have a way to defeat Nekron. I mean, have we ever heard of this particular plot device before in GL history? Ever?! It honestly seemed like the first cheap moment of the series to me. I can't fault Johns as a writer, because I like the large majority of his work, but it felt like he was just pulling things out of his ass with Blackest Night with first teh rainbow Corps and now this.

he's been building the rainbow corps since he took over the books with Rebirth. it wasn't just some spontaneous decision.
and tbh, if it's
Spoiler:that goes and beats Nekron single-handed, i'd be very surprised... Johns has gone to lengths to show duality in the GL universe, and this is just another example of that.

they took Scarecrow's ring away already?Life began on Earth? Errr?
Beautiful art though
Yeah that doesn't even make sense. The Source created the first world, Urgrund and it was the only world in existence at one time. Not to mention the angels and the Monitors etc etc
So the White entity is a Incarnate version of life ?
I take it he can bring the dead back to life then ?
I have conveniently forgotten how to do spoilers, and I'll take the warning, if I get it.
I was under the impression that life originated on Oa, hence them being a billion years more biologically advanced than us, hence their ability to psionically perceive the emotional spectrum and manipulate it ? Simple molecular life has only been around on earth for about 1.5 billion years. Is Geoff Johns, dumping o the Origin of the species and embracing some wired form of I.D. (intelligent design for anyone whose been living in a cave, or lives in Europe)?

DC seriously needs to set their shit straight with what the ultimate good and evil are. It was bad enough setting straight the Primal Monitor and the Presence but now we have to reconcile this new entity and the Source?
How many Classical Gods do we need ... Spectre, Presence, Source, The Primal Monitor, the Original Monitors, the Big Beast thingy ? Plus all the other pantheon Gods with their own versions of creation ? To many St Augustine's, not enough Calvin's, sort it out !!!!!!!!

This is further complicated by the fact that John is using the term universe and not multiverse. If it truly is just one universe, then the Life Entity is merely the representation of one universe. The Source could still have been involved. The Source is the energy of everything in the DC universe, including life and death. The Life Entity is merely a manifestation of life/light itself and not the power behind everything.
I think FC pretty much sorted out who is God in DC, he's the mind of the Primal Monitor, AKA the Overvoid, AKA The Source, AKA The Presence. There all one and the same as of FC.
Any deviation from that shows a lack of knowledge on the actual structure of the DC multiverse, an Orrery of Worlds within the Overvoid which is the metaphoric representation of the blank canvas which artists and writers put their ideas on.
I agree, Morrison even said the monitors are another name for angels and Mandrakk knows about God somehow so where he fits in with the angels in Heaven or the fallen ones is still unknown, maybe a physical manifestation of them?? After The Source creates Earth and speaks the Life Entity into existance it creates the GodWorld and sometime afterward life develops on Maltus they are known as the Maltusians. The Old Gods destroy themselves eons of years later and The Fourth World is born. 😎
If anything, FC made it that much harder to understand who God is in DC. Yes, Mandrakk, Superman, and the rest of the Monitors do resemble angels, Morrison said it. Though, he made sure to say that they resemble, but not that they are. There is still the Spectre, and the fact that it represents Presence. This is why Mandrakk said something about his fallen God.
As for the white entity, I will play it in the Angels Department until things settle in.

Just read it again, seems he was talking about Darkseid the god who just died and destroyed nearly everything.

You are talking about where he sees Superman talking about DS. I am talking about when he refers to Gods defenders/
Doesn't say anything about God falling, he never left Heaven and stayed there, he sent his army the Pax Dei who musta been in flesh suits cause Heaven is outside creation. 🤨
