However.....

I still feel that Blackest Night is awesome. I prefer it to FC and not only do I think it's one of the best events DC has put out in recent years, I think it is one of the all round best events by any comic publisher ever. Do I think it's the best event ever? No, probably not. But I think it's in the top ten or maybe twenty.

I disagree here because the problem is them creating the hype and then trying to live up to it. When they pushed it as a company wide event, they were then forced to shift the story on other characters in the DCU. The beginnings of BL were filled with stories and characters that should've been in tie-ins.

Sinestro Corps and Annihilation worked so well because it got right to business. The major players were set and things happened at the get go. It felt like actual wars. BL drags on about heroes mourning their zombie love ones and fighting the guilts and fears. LOL. I don't care much for this sh!t much. Focusing on a few is fine, but it's like every other panel you have this weeping sh!t going on and then the (fill in the blank) hero overcomes their fear.

The major focus in SCW were the GLs and SC. Everyone else got background roles or became canon fodder. The sad thing about BL is that all these new corps members of the rainbow crew aren't the main players of BL. Instead, we have Flash, Wonder Woman, Lex, etc. running around with rings.

As awesome as some may think, I would rather have Dex Star, Bleez, Kryb, Warth, Arkillo, and the other members of the rainbow crew be part of the assault on Nekron.

Lastly, Black Hand stands around most of the time. Jeezes, even Kryb does more than this guy.

When has there ever been a crossover where GL characters were at the forefront??

I'm not familiar with 'Emerald Rebirth' but apart from Zero Hour Emerald Twilight/SCW were self-contained storylines that did not extend to other 'non-GL' series (with very small exceptions).

I think you answered your own question. And it's not so much GLs being at the forefront (the GLs are always at the fore front in universal crisis regardless), it's those GL coprs specific crisis that I'm talking about.

Anyway, I can't wait for BD to come and go, the rainbow wars have worn out there welcome.

I think GL stories are so much better when they're contained to individual space cop case files-type stories like in GLC.

Im not going to quote everyone, cos that would just be messy.

@ iconiac: dc has had the GLs with major parts in pretty much EVERY event of the last five/ten years, Infinite Crisis and Final Crisis included.

@ Omega (i think): Johns said he likes big events, so there's going to be less of the standalone stories while he's on GL.

@ Allankles: I love the various corps, tbh, and i think it opens up so many possibilities for the GL universe in future.

Far as GL 52 went, i have to say i didn't really like it that much. Sure, it was nice to see what each entity looked like, but i honestly wanted more detail than the basic "this is where they're from and this is what they look like". I think that GL and the central BN book have been very strong (and no way do i think it's the mess Rage claimed it is), but #52 was the weakest issue so far imo. Not a lot happened that really caught my interest.

also, DC's reputation is just fine. I really don't know why anyone would think it was somehow suffering.

Does anyone else kind of hope that Sinestro stays the way he is after Blackest Night? Maybe even get a solo series that explores his new role in the Universe as a Spectre type character.

honestly? no. if the black lanterns were still around (which they wont be) then maybe, but with just the regular 7 corps? not for me...

I don't know, he just seems like a good character to show up in future Crisis titles as a Big Gun type character who can hold his own against the current Ultimate Evil while the heroes find their plot device.

He is the type of character to finish the main villain. That's his purpose and after that, he should be gone. After all, Sinestro isn't in control no more. Now it's the white entity

Wow BL 8. SO the White Entity has powers of a god. Nekron is actually death.

Larfleeze was very funny.

Big Spoiler about the White Light. It's nice. Not a bad ending, but it's also nice how the defeated Nekron. It was expected. 7/10 for BN8 8.5/10 overall

This story arc had such promise, what the hell kind of ending was that?

BN was unnecessarily slow.

Spoiler:
Blackest Night passed out a lot of phoenix downs, which is ok I guess because I'll get to see these characters again.

Pretty much as expected. I was surprised they

Spoiler:
revived Max Lord, Jade, Anti Monitor
among others. I'll give it 7/10 also.

as a whole i enjoyed blackest night..

bring on brightest day

Spoiler:
Yeah thats real smart. Reviving AM is like beating Thanos with the IG only to end up with Red skull having the cosmic cube.

Really, really enjoyed it. I was afraid Johns wouldn't deliver, but he did, and then some. Very happy with how it all turned out.

I just didn't like how deadman came into this. His part was so important, but yet it felt as it was rushed.

Who do you think will find the White Battery? Blackest Night was very good, but not as good as Sinestro Corps.

Either a power struggle, or it will be the Guardians who take it and start a new universal police.

Though, it most likely seems as AM will be the main villain

Also, tbh i preferred BN 8 to GL 25, which was the finale of SCW. For me there was more of a "wow" factor.

What was the Wow Factor
