STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Liberator

Started by REXXXX54 pages

Wentar passes the Agility roll to leap up to the next level, effectively cutting off the escape route as the Assassin rushes up to use it. Wentar swipes at the Assassin for 9 more damage.

It is also at this point that he realizes what danger he had sensed. The strategically-placed sensor-trip mine that Wentar could not see from below and is now at his feet goes off. Rather than a fiery explosion, it is purely concussive and knocks Wentar back for 5 damage, moving him out of the way. The Assassin taps Marksman to get extra dice with his blaster rifle- a custom job with a scope and flash dampener in a bullpup configuration- but he only scores two successes for 5 damage.

Well that was stupid of me. Swap Reflection back in, tap block and attack.

Wentar jumps right back into the fighting and strikes with six successes, his lightsaber skimming across the Assassin's shoulder for 11 damage.

Since the mine pushed Wentar out of position, however, the Assassin is able to move past and ascend the next flight of stairs. Another volley catches Wentar for 6 damage.

Swap out block. Keep moving after him, attack if I get the chance.

Initiative goes to the Assassin this time. He haphazardly runs almost sideways up the stairs in order to get a shot at Wentar, only inflicting 5 damage on his reduced pool. You run after him as he gets to the door at the very top of the stairs.

I can't risk taking anymore damage, Combat push and attack.

An initiative tie again... this time it goes to the Assassin who gets through the door before Wentar can act, this time not even firing as he runs out onto the roof of the apartment complex.

Wentar follows him through the door and throws out a hand for a Combat Push. A success rolled knocks the Assassin down on his face, the bullpup blaster skittering a short distance across the rooftop toward the sleek stealth speederbike awaiting the Assassin...

The Assassin is unable to run from Wentar this turn, so Wentar can move in and attack with +4 to his dice pool. The Assassin is still going for his blaster, however.

The Assassin's speederbike is two turns away from Wentar, one turn from the Assassin.

Attack, I'm not going to let him get away.

Wentar goes first! Rushing in as the Assassin scrambles for his gun, Wentar's lightsaber leaves a deep mark across the Assassin's front, slashing open part of his leather jacket. Be pleased with your attack... you rolled nine successes for 14 damage, a stellar blow!

The Assassin gets his gun in return and hits Wentar for 6 damage; pale in comparison to what Wentar just achieved.

Instead of attacking this turn Wentar will try get between the Assassin and the speeder bike.

You try to maneuver yourself in the way, but the Assassin gets to his feet and closes the gap between him and his speeder before hopping onto the ready and waiting machine...

Refresh!

Refresh Block, Tap Focused Guard and Reflection (If he attacks), swap the guard for Block and attack the speeder.

The tap from Focused Guard only works if you are not attacking your target. Still going for it?

I'll only Tap Focused Guard if he gets the initiative.

If I get it tap Reflection and attack anyway and swap it for block.

The issue is more that your action is going to be spent on the offense than who gets initiative. You would need to hang back and not launch an attack for the tap to function (though it would function very well!)

What I meant is if I get the initiative then I tap Reflection, swap it for Block and attack.

If he gets the initiative then I'll tap Focused guard and Reflection, swap the guard for Block, staying where I am.

Aha, I totally misunderstood.

The speederbike starts to ascend and swivels in Wentar's direction, putting the Jedi directly in the sights of a pair of repeating blasters that have been built into the sides of the sleek vehicle. But, in a display of excellent defense, when the blasters start firing, Wentar smacks several the bolts directly back at the speeder, inflicting 4 damage to the very light craft. A bolt hits the portside engine that extends out to the side.

The Assassin is starting to head off...

Can I leap onto his Speeder?

You can! Standard Agility roll, enhanced by Leaping.

Then I shall do that! Swapping Focused Guard out.
