Emso fires in frightened bursts that stray every which way, shattering a viewscreen behind you. Defensive posturing serves you well, here; Focused Guard reduces Emso's Guns pool to four dice, and Block negates one of the 6s he gets. Still, one bolt in particular burns you for 4 damage. Nothing comes of your Reflection; he rolled too high for that to kick in.

CONFRONTATION, Start of Turn 2

Gunshots have roused the attention of the police officers stationed on this floor. You hear their footsteps as they move toward the room you are in, and the beep of their comms.

How far away are the officers?

A turn's worth. You are in the center of the entertainment floor, and they are coming from the direction of the comm lounge, having been in a maintenance corridor over that way.

Swap Reflection for Bodyguard. Staying focused on Emso, still no attack.

"This is your last chance, stop this madness!" Wentar shouts.

Emso keeps up his frantic firing. You skillfully flourish and fend off his shots as his aim is thrown off from fumbling over furniture, moving away from you.

The officers run in, weapons drawn.

"Shoot to kill!" the leading officer orders, and they raise their pistols...

Made some adjustments, now listing your Parry and remaining Force Points.

"No! Incapacitate, I need him alive," Wentar says, attempting to counter the leaders orders. Leadership roll I assume?

Wentar will move towards Emso though, cutting off any escape route.

Leadership roll... results are ignored. They pay your command no heed!

Initiative check is made due to the arrival of the officers... you and the officers get it! You move after Emso while they open fire. Their light pistols go pew-pew! and the Zabrak servant takes 6 damage!

Emso keeps shooting at you, though, while throwing himself into cover behind a holoprojector. Two successes are reduced to one and you take 3 damage.

Emso got lucky this round... but those officers mean to end him. You have no doubt of that.

Wentar doesn't want Emso killed, but he's also getting shot at... Can Wentar attempt to disarm him?

It's a Force roll!

I'll give it a shot.

You reach out a hand... and Emso is surprised when his pistol is snapped from his hand and ends up in yours. That puts an end to his shooting as he doesn't seem willing to grapple with you for it! He stays behind the holoprojector... which is then dotted with molten holes as the officers keep up their blasting! Emso takes 10 damage and his cover is destroyed, the holoprojector sputtering smoke and its projected image flickering out.

Emso uses his turn to move into more cover, behind a sofa.

"Hold your fire!" Wentar shouts, moving between the Officers and Emso. "He's no longer a threat."

The officers let loose another volley... but with you interposing yourself with your lightsaber and with Emso in cover, their shots go wide or are deflected.

"Get out of the way!" the leader says. "No leniencey for criminals and traitors!"

"I will not let you murder an unarmed and defenseless man in my presence, criminal or not," Wentar says firmly, standing his ground. "He will be taken in for questioning."

Other officers are starting to flood into the entertainment zone now, guns drawn.

"We have our orders, Jedi," the leader says. "Gun down all who try to kill the Senator or any of his security team. No exceptions."

Emso whimpers behind the sofa, watching the scene unfold.

"You kill him, you kill our only lead on these assassination attempts," Wentar states, watching the new officers warily. "As the Jedi assigned to protecting Senator Farl I will decide how to deal with any possible assassins... And killing this man is not an option I will allow."

There is a tense moment as the officers keep their guns trained on Emso, the sevant eyes everyone fearfully, and you stand firmly with your lightsaber humming in the silence...

There is a low whine as the officers power down their pistols and lower them.

"Have it your way," the leader says. He looks past you to some men who had come in from the north lifts. "Take him."

Shortly after, Emso is arrested and taken away for treason. Farl wants to see you.

I'm curious, Altar is in charge of investigating these assassins... Should Wentar call him in or would it be wiser to do the questioning himself report the finding to Altar?

Wentar has a strong feeling that Farl wont be too happy about the events, but he still feels he did the right thing. He will go see Farl right away.

Altar is off investigating as you had asked him to do; calling him back would, perhaps, be a waste of his help.

Farl is none too pleased.

"What happened?" Farl asks. "Why did Emso try to shoot you?"

Alrighty then. Probably better to let Wentar talk to Emso anyway.

"Panic," Wentar says, he feels uneasy about trusting Farl but hiding anything at this point would be an insult. "He didn't seem to like what I had discovered after watching the unaltered tapes."
