STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Liberator

"My original reason for becoming the Senator of Triskatan is very simple," Farl says, his mood lightening once more after Wentar's terrible tale. "My father was the Senator before me. He pushed me towards it and I let him, replacing him as Triskatan's representation upon his retirement and after a unanimous vote in my favor. But after my election, it became much more about bringing change to the Republic. My platform was and has always been about getting help for those that need it."

"As I said when I first met you, Senator Farl, it's so nice to finally meet a Senator who's biggest concern isn't his own wallet," Wentar says smiling. "I'd like to hear more about your efforts."

"My most successful efforts actually concern the Jedi Order," Farl says. "I felt that the Republic was not sending the Jedi out to planets in the farthest reaches of our domain. Chancellor Valorum agreed, as did Master Yoda. Not exactly a controversial issue, mind you, so it was easy to get things done."

"Indeed," Wentar agrees, nodding his head. "Though Valorum's left office, hasn't he... What do you think about the new Chancellor? Do you think he's one to support your cause?"

"Palpatine? Only time will tell. As a Senator he was very much the man to agree with the prevailing position, so everyone liked him because he was useful as a support. That is why he has become Chancellor- the Senate thinks they can use him as a puppet. But who knows. He is rather charismatic and fatherly, a figure that the Republic needs at its head. Poor Valorum. I, of course, supported the vote of no confidence."

Farl continues feasting.

"That reminds me. The Senate is holding a meeting to vote on immediate changes that the new Chancellor wishes to push through. I have a feeling it will be very drab, but... while my suite easily secured, the entirety of Coruscant is not. Best to be prepared, Jedi."

"Of course, Sentator," Wentar says, unconsciously scratching his chest, a little worried about his current condition,. "Do you know what these changes are?"

"Minor things. If Palpatine remains true to his past career, he will just bend with the will of the majority."

"I'm not entirely thrilled with that possibility."

"Nor am I. How is your meal treating you?"

"Very well," Wentar says, cutting up another chunk of the meat. "Emso must be an excellent cook. How long has he been working as your aide?"

"Several years, by now. He was down on his luck and an admirer of my anti-slavery work, like yourself. I have given him indefinite employment and a well-to-do lifestyle to thrive in. I admire his loyalty almost as much as I enjoy his cooking."

Wentar chuckles. "I have to admit I'm not use to this kind of lifestyle. The spartan life of a Jedi has grown on me over the years."

"Hopefully I do not spoil you with my hospitality, then!" Farl says, with a soft chuckle of his own. He munches on his exotic delicacy for a moment more before assuming a business-like manner. "After we dine, I intend to watch a film, and then retire for the evening. If there is anything you wish to discuss as to my security, we should do so now."

"What kind of security devices do you have already in place here?" Wentar asks.

The building in which the suite is located, due to the fact that it houses other Senators and important persons besides Garys Farl, is constantly under armed guard by the Senatorial guards, with their blue robes and crested helmets. Sensors throughout the building can detect lifeforms, particularly if they pass through doorways or windows (though if entrances are forced, alarms will sound). All doors and windows come with emergency blastshields that provide extra sealing power and durability. Cameras are not located within the suites themselves, but on the outsides of the building or in the hallways and elevators connecting the suites.

Where is Wentar sleeping? Is it near the Senators room or on the other side of the suite?

The Senator's master bedroom and the guest rooms are all grouped together on one side of the suite.

Would it be wise for myself and Emso to take turns sleeping or would it be too much on top of Emso's aide duties?

Emso would prefer if he could get a full night of rest, at least tonight. Until your arrival, Emso had been awake at all hours of the day to remain responsive and ready to protect the Senator. He welcomes you relieving him.

In that case Wentar will let him rest. I guess my plan is to keep watch outside of the Senators suite tonight, taking one or two 1 hour breaks just so Wentar doesn't exhaust himself. I can see any other way to watch over the Senator without disturbing him.
