STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Broken

Then unfortunately for Vera-Kin, it is Barker. He is reporting that he has spotted the Dark Jedi that appeared at your hangar loitering about the Astrune Quarter.

"What do you mean about your talents?" Akro says. "You strike me as being a fighter. I wouldn't have you go thrashing my miners, not matter what they're doing!"

"Fighting is what I am best with, yes. And part of that is knowing when to use those skills. I don't do so needlessly. But if it comes to a riot and innocent people are being harmed, then words may not be enough to stop it," Rianna replies. "And in my experience, simply seeing a lightsaber in the hand of a Jedi is enough to dissuade any thoughts of violence one may have. But don't worry, I have no intentions of harming anyone."

Vera-Kin will tell Barker to give her the exact location of the Dark Jedi and ask him to get out of the area so that he won't be in any danger. She then returns to Rianna and Hirget and Akro.

"One of our criminals has been spotted," Vera-Kin says. "In all honesty he is likely up to no good. We should intercept him, Rianna. And quickly."

The Jedi Master wants to go kick some Dark Jedi ass, but I feel you have some things to consider first.

"One of them has been spotted? But just one? I almost feel that this could be some sort of trap - keep us distracted while Rand and the other are up to something elsewhere..." Rianna replies, frowning.

There are other things to consider... keep it coming.

We also just told Akro and Hirget we'd help them...

And so do you want to put that off or put someone on that now?

Also, Rianna's current state is something you cannot forget...

Ahh, yeah, can't forget that.

Well to start out, probably should get Rianna patched up. And then maybe we should split up for a little bit? One of us go check out what Rand's student is doing snooping around, the other start looking into Akro's problems.

In order to patch up fully, you will need to take a nap in a bacta tank.

That being said, unless Vera-Kin is going to wait for Rianna, she will need to decide where she is going first- loitering mass-murdering evil doer or bar of drunken unpaid miners.

Vera-Kin is most keen to see what the evil-doer is up to, and once she does, she can meet up with Rianna and go to the Stain.

That will probably be the best idea, though Rianna certainly wants to check out what Mr. Evil is up to herself.

Is it agreed that that is the gameplan now?

Sure.

Since Vera-Kin suggested it, I will move us along, then.

General Hirget asks Akro to see you off to the medical bay, so that you can continue talking with him about the mining threat.

"I am glad you seek to dissuade my men from rioting rather than force them to stop," Akro says. "I feel that is what Hirget would do. Dissuade, I mean."

Vera-Kin, meanwhile, makes her way back to the speeder with Lt. Col. Nehmen.

"Are you sure that apprehending your suspect alone is wise?" he asks.

"I was always taught that if there's a peaceful solution available, to look for that first. Would you be able to tell me who are the leaders among the miners? Not necessarily the dissenters, but those who tend to have the most influence with the other miners, and hopefully those who would be the most likely to help us," Rianna says.

"I am a Jedi Master," Vera-Kin says. "If I cannot handle this, then nobody on this planet can. Trust me, Nehmen, I sense the danger implicit in such a task but it is something I am capable of doing."

She hops into the rented landspeeder.

"Contact me if anything happens while I am away."

As you talk, Rianna is required to strip down to get into one of the many bacta tanks in the medical bay and put on the breath mask and all that jazz. Akro, being polite, averts his eyes for the rest of the conversation. He is content to stare with the wall opposite the bacta tank.

"Of all the thousands of miners working the Rift, I am the only one of importance," Akro tells you, "but that is only because my way of proceeding with workers' rights is favored by the General. There have been some that push for open rebellion and violence against the corporations, but I don't really know them."

"Good luck," Nehmen responds, "and let us know if reinforcements are necessary. There are military officers in that area."

Vera-Kin gets her speeder in motion and heads back to the Astrune Quarter with its gold-paved streets and grand archways and ridiculous architectural designs and concepts. Barker contacts her to let her know that he has moved away but that the Dark Jedi appeared to be waiting for something or someone in a park near Dame Astrune's dwelling.

"No such thing as luck, Nehmen," Vera-Kin tells the Lt. Col. as she pulls out of Fort Ine through the tunnel.

When she gets to the Astrune Quarter and Barker tells her about the park near where they just were, Vera-Kin decides to park the landspeeder and tell Barker where it is so that he can drive it as an emergency pick-up if need be.

She then progresses on foot into the park, wanting to sneak up on the Dark Jedi. If he seems like he is waiting, she will make an Intrusion roll to hide herself in the bushes or behind something so that she can watch him.

Sheesh, I thought we were still walking to the medical bay when we were talking 😛

In that case, Rianna will thank him and then ask to be left alone. They can continue the talk later.
