STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Broken

Akro apologizes that he could not be of greater help and leaves, but not before telling you the location of the Stain- on the outskirts of town, closer to the Great Rift.

And so Rianna is alone. As she quietly meditates, she is presented with fragments of her vision from before, giving her pause to think about it.

-

Barker says he will ready the speeder for any quick getaways that need to be made.

Treading into the park, Vera-Kin will be pleased to find that there are neatly-arranged hedges which she can duck behind in order to sneak up on the Dark Jedi, who she senses quite clearly- an unpleasantly hubristic mind. You find him waiting by a willow-like tree, sitting on a bench.

Your Intrusion roll is made on ten dice, as Vera-Kin is already impressive with this and has Presence. She rolls six successes and hides herself nearby with ease.

Vera-Kin will wait patiently, then, to see if the Dark Jedi goes somewhere or meets up with anyone.

Rianna shudders a bit as parts of her vision replay themselves in her mind. She doesn't really want to think about it at the moment, especially the part about her attacking Myraline. It certainly makes her not want to encounter Rand, though.

As your vision returns to you, more comes with it. You begin to recall your vision from years ago, before your mission to Beseedra... an incessantly crying and fearful Ciira Treen standing over the body of a dead Jedi, your duel in the clouds... and they begin to blend with your more recent vision.

-

For awhile, nothing happens, Vera. But then you sense someone approaching. A man comes up and sits beside the Dark Jedi, scruffy and unwashed and wearing the work clothes of a miner.

"You came," the Dark Jedi says.

"Yes, Arneth," the miner says, timidly. You sense he is distressed. "I can't afford to feed my family. Please, help me. You said you would."

"I did, didn't I," the Dark Jedi known as Arneth says.

Rianna definitely does not like the fact that the bits from both of her visions are coming together into one big horrific mess she doesn't want to think about...

Vera-Kin narrows her eyes, watching with concern for the miner and wondering what this Arneth has promised him.

Particularly towards the end, Rianna. Ciira was not in the dark tunnel with you before, nor were the brilliant clouds being hit by sunset.

-

"Do you remember what I wanted you to do?" Arneth says after a moment.

"Yes," the miner says, hanging his head. "Steal the Box from Dame Astrune and kill her."

"Think you can do it?"

"I... I don't know."

"Your kids won't be eating tonight if you don't."

The miner nods, and Arneth produces a blaster pistol that he slides across the bench with the Force to the miner.

"Now go," Arneth says, and the miner gets up and begins walking out of the park.

I think at this point, Rianna's basically coming to the conclusion that she hates visions from the Force, because this has her all sorts of confused and freaked out right now, and since she kept quiet about the last part of the vision she had before coming here, she can't even talk to anyone about it.

That miner is going to get murdered if he goes in there with a gun! Vera-Kin would go after him but she does not want to let the Dark Jedi out of her sight. She will call Barker and tell him that there is a miner heading for Astrune's and that he needs to stop him and take him back to the Fort.

Suppressing that information and keeping it to yourself is going to make you unstable, which is the last thing you need during this mission.

-

There is no reply from Barker, and the Dark Jedi has now stood up from the bench and checking his comlink. He seems satisfied that it is silent and puts it away. Then he casually draws his repeating pistol and aims it in the direction of your hedge.

"Did you think I couldn't sense you?" Arneth asks. "How stupid."

Vera-Kin, incoming danger!

True. Hardly anything Rianna can do about that at the moment, though...not until she's out of the tank and has met back up with Vera-Kin.

Vera-Kin will ignite her lightsaber and defend herself! Does the hedge provide any cover? If not she'll jump out and flourish her lightsaber the Dark Jedi, saying nothing.

Would you tell Vera-Kin, though?

-

The hedge provides a point of cover as he cannot actually see you when you are behind it. Does this change your action?

Also, Blade schticks, please.

Rianna's not sure about that yet. She's not exactly the trusting sort, after all.

(Not to mention that Myraline asked me to watch you, not that Rianna knows that.)

Hmm... yes. Vera-Kin is going to ignite her lightsaber but run along the hedge away from the Dark Jedi. Barker didn't answer, so she needs to try reaching him while moving to stop the miner herself.

Indeed, you imagine any Jedi would feel obligated to tell the Council that you have had visions of possibly killing your former Master...

-

Schticks, Vera?

And that would be bad. She's not going to get sent back to Coruscant before they finish this. So Rianna shall keep it to herself for now.

(also, probably a good thing that Rianna doesn't know that, Vera. She would be very pissed off if she did know 😛)

Balanced Guard and Block are all I really need right now. Cleave for good measure.

Yes, she would be sent back to Coruscant posthaste and chastised for lying to the Council about her vision.

But keeping it to herself will continue to make her unstable...

-

Arneth rapidly fires his blaster into the hedgerow that Vera-Kin is quickly making her way down, the bolts burning through to the other side just behind Vera-Kin.

He rolls three successes, so Vera-Kin (with cover and armor factored in) takes 4 damage. But that is still a hit, and so Arneth shoots again with 10,000 Bolts. Another three successes is 4 more damage.

The miner has started running at the sound of blasterfire.

I think Rianna would rather take the risk and try to be sure to be very careful than have to face that sort of humiliation.

And for now she's going to try and clear her mind of the nagging visions so that she can concentrate on what she needs to do.
