STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Broken

Started by Peach75 pages

The best idea I can think of is for Rianna to approach them and say that the kid delivered the papers to the wrong place and that she'll need to get them back, because you know how those rich nobles can be when things doesn't go exactly their way, and their delivery should come in about half an hour.

It's worth a shot.

Intimidation check for Vera, who is going for the 'bad cop' vibe here.

"Maybe I do know something about what you're talking about," Dalt says, eyeing the Wookiee. "Yeah, yeah, I do a bit."

Well, let's try that before the snag-slash-run plan, then.

How are you getting down there to chat, then?

Same way I got up there, though obviously not going to jump down at the front of the building.

Okay! Time is of the essence. In order for you to not look awfully suspicious, you need to get to them in a timely manner (before they get inside) and approach them without them noticing from whence you came.

Going down the back of the bar is safer but slower.

Going down the side of the bar is faster but riskier.

We'll go with the side, I think.

"Please," Vera-Kin says. "Share what you know. I promise there won't be any repercussions if you're honest with me."

Rianna needs three successes to get down the side without being noticed. She drops down quietly after rolling five successes. Normally she would take some damage from falling that height, but Leaping reduces it to zero.

"This guy came skulking around the Stain a few days ago," Dalt says. "Just some guy, kinda scruffy. Had a friend with him, dark-haired kid. They didn't say much to anyone, just ordered some drinks and left. Came back the next day, did the same thing. Kinda weird, but we don't ask questions around here. Unlike you."

Excellent.

Rianna's going to sneak along the side and around the front, making sure that the miner with the papers isn't facing her, and then approach him.

"Good, they're not gone yet...look, the kid screwed up the delivery schedule, and the delivery for here wasn't supposed to arrive for another half hour," Rianna says, using Sense the entire time. "Mind if I get them back? Else there's going to be some angry nobles and you know how they can get..."

Two successes gets you out into the street without them noticing where you came from, and then you roll up and give your schpiel... but you roll no successes on three dice (-1 due to lack of a Lying skill).

They look at you curiously.

"Pretty sure he wouldn't mess THAT up," one of them says. "The kid always delivers on time."

Blah...

"There was some last minute change - some rich noble over in the Astrune quarter needed extra copies for something, so everything had to be scrambled to try and accommodate that," Rianna replies. "I was sent to try and catch up with him and let him know of the change."

Are you feeling Lucky at all, Rianna?

Is that a suggestion to use a reroll? 😛

I'll probably need it for this, Rianna is definitely not a social person.

It is. Going for it?

Yes.

Re-roll...

The miner look skeptically at you for a moment, then hands over the stack of newspapers.

"'Ey, forget the nobles, you bastard!" one of the miners pipes up.

"Shut yer trap, don't want to get the kid fired," the miner says. "Just let make sure we get more papers, okay lady?"

You rolled three successes.

"Don't worry, someone'll send the kid over with a new stack soon as this is all straightened out," Rianna says, taking the stack. She's going to move off a bit, towards where they had left their speeder, before finding someplace she can destroy the papers.

An alleyway will do. You ignite your lightsaber and set the stack alight in a trashcan without any witnesses. A job well done, and Vera-Kin can carry on her conversation without a riot breaking out.

Wooo.

Rianna wants to keep watching the bar, now, but right now it might be best to stay back a bit, at least until those miners leave/go inside/something. So she'll spy from her alleyway for the moment.
