"Don't take me for a fool," Vera-Kin says, using the Force to yank the being-cleaned glass away from the bartender to get his full attention. "I was told he would be here, and I want to see him. I know you can help me, and I think you should want to in this case. Trust me on this."
With Barker standing behind her and looking rather unhappy herself, Vera-Kin wants to make an Intimidation effort.
Well, he's pulling up on the bike, now.
-
Barker barks an affirmative as you scramble onto his shoulders.
There is a stairway on one side of the room that carries you up to the second level, which wraps around the walls except for the right side, where the stairs are and the center. When you get up there, you notice that there is a difference. Downstairs, the crowd consists of people buying drinks; up here, there are pool tables and card games going on. The smoke is heavier up here, obscuring your view slightly.
It does not stop you from seeing Dalt Brernon sitting at a sabacc table in one dark corner, however. He is a burly figure, with a thick unkept beard and an ill-fitting wifebeater permanently soiled by the mines.
The boy dismounts the bike.
"Hey boy," one of the miners says. "Got the goods?"
"Sure do," the boy says, reaching into one of the bags. He produces a sizeable stack of newspapers- a cheap way of getting news for miners, who can't afford viewscreens and the HoloNet and the like. He tosses it down at the feet of the miners, one of which grabs the stack.
-
The others at Dalt's table are all miners, big and dirty and moody.
"Ante up," Dalt says to the others, and everyone tosses in a few credits. The miners stop when they notice the towering Wookiee coming up to the table. They all turn and look at Barker, missing you entirely, you short green Muppet you.
That gets their attention.
"Can I help you?" Dalt rudely asks, slapping his cards flat down on the table. "Private game, you prune. Started way before you walked in here. I suggest letting us continue."
-
"What's the headline today?" one of the miners asks the one with the stack, as the young boy pulls away on his bike.
"'Jedi Attacks Miner Unprovoked' it says," the miner says. "What the..."
Rianna, from your vantage point, you can clearly see a picture of Vera-Kin astride the miner she arrested, with a blaster in his face and her lightsaber poised to strike.
Somehow I feel the bar occupants are going to quickly get very hostile towards Vera-Kin if they see that.
We have our comms, right? Rianna's going to warn Vera-Kin.
"I wouldn't stick around there much longer if you can help it. There's a delivery of newspapers that just arrived, claiming you attacked a miner unprovoked yesterday..."
