"What else did they do?" Vera-Kin asks. "Did you ever see a third figure with them? A Nautolan, darkly dressed?"

"No third guy. But Scruffy did come to me two days after his first drink here," Dalt says. "Asked me about myself, made reference to one of my lesser moments."

Are the miners still there?

"What'd he want with you once those things were discussed?" Vera-Kin continues, hoping to get everything she can from Dalt.

"To see if I would be willing to get up to my old ways," Dalt says. "And I know you know what I mean by that. You did your homework. But I told him to piss off, not going to risk myself. Aaaaand that's when the pay denial hit. Not going to lie, his offer started getting tempting. Everyone needs money."

Does Rianna Sense anything? Waiting around back here isn't really something she wants to do but she doesn't want to get caught out in her lie, which will probably happen if she approaches again while they're there.

You are really just waiting on Vera-Kin at this point and making yourself available if disaster strikes, as unfortunate as that is.

Wooo.

Okay, let's get through this.

"What was his offer?" Vera-Kin asks. "It's important that you tell me so I can figure out what this man is up to."

"Start riots, get paid," Dalt says. "Didn't mention no Jedi being on his trail, though. Probably should've... now he'd need to pay me WAY more to get me to roll with him. Right now, I'm wondering if he's got that kind of money. Paid me a thousand credits upfront, after all..."

That is a fair amount of money, Vera-Kin. You are unsure how Rand would have come by it without illicit activity.

That would have gotten him a lot of cash. I'm guessing Vera was briefed on that. It'd be silly if she wasn't!

Vera-Kin tenses, thinking to herself that Rand justmight have the funds to keep Dalt on his payroll.

"Even if he does, would you be willing to risk your life in such a pursuit?" Vera-Kin says. "I'm almost certain that my skills with a lightsaber surpass yours with a blaster... not that I want to have to test that."

You were, and the thought of this scares you. That means that Rand was planning on his pursuits on Ord Coridari for some time. Drug syndicates do not start themselves overnight and require effort to maintain. If Rand was using that as a precursor to this... he might have much spending money indeed.

"You are just one Jedi," Dalt says. "There are thousands of miners on Ord Coridari. And they are all hungry and desperate. To quote that man you're asking about, how easy do you think it is to turn that fear into anger?"

"I believe conspiracy to riot is still something I can arrest you for," Vera-Kin says. "I wouldn't be talking so proudly and openly about consorting with the sort of man I am after, either. They are wanted men and being in their company is punishable enough, in my books. Now, are you going to insist on testing me about this rioting business or are you going to help me prevent them?"

"Get a warrant, then," Dalt says. "But if you really want me to help stop this stuff... you need to get that damn Dame to pay the miners again. I'm serious. If she starts writing the checks, I'll start calming everyone down. If you can't do that, I can't guarantee anything."

Vera-Kin sighs.

"I can try talking to the Dame, but I am not a figure that she will listen to," Vera-Kin says. "Only the General can enforce things in such a way."

"Then get him to!" Dalt says.

I think Rianna's fallen asleep out of boredom by this point 😛

Vera-Kin will slide out of her seat, having gotten all that she can out of Dalt... for now.

"I suppose our business is concluded for the moment," Vera-Kin says. "I have but one last question... did this man tell you WHY he wanted you to start riots?"

"Nah," Dalt says, dismissively.
