STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Broken

"Sure," Colby says, taking his pistols in hand. "You first?"

"Fine with me," Rianna says, taking her lightsaber in her hand, and...knocking on the hatch, I suppose?

You do so. No answer.

"I know you're in there - come out!" Rianna calls out, taking a step back.

Nothing.

"What now?" Colby asks.

"We can't quite force them out, apparently, and I don't think starport authorities would be too pleased if we forced our way in. I don't think there's much we can do but keep watch and see if anyone leaves or enters," Rianna says, frustrated.

There is a loud rumble from within the ship and a rush of wind. The engines have started.

Hmmm. Then perhaps moving away from the ship (and possibly out of that docking bay entirely) would possibly be a good idea. Since Rianna's thinking that they're either going to take off or shoot at the two of them.

The fact that the lower turret is swiveling in your direction and a handful of those bulky plates sliding back to reveal anti-personnel turrets seems to indicate the latter, but the engines are definitely powering up...

So they're probably going to do both ermm

Rianna's eyes widen a bit as the turrets turn in their direction and she ignites her lightsaber. "Go! Get back to our ship, I'll be right behind you!"

She'll cover Colby, reflecting any shots that come at them as best she can as they get the hell out of there.

Covering Colby would be grand, if one possessed the schtick to do so! Not one Dark Sider has Bodyguard...

"Viloc's on the other side of the starport!" Colby shouts. "They'll be gone long before we get there!"

Ahh, true...

"I'm more worried about the fact that they're aiming the turrets at us!" Rianna shouts back.

What you are presented with is a short combat situation. You have moved away from the ship, about a turn's distance, before the blasters start firing and the turret goes off. The blasters read as heavy pistols; they pack a punch, but only just enough to get people away from the ship. The turret is an energy blast heavy weapon, though! You may wish to check the rules on that. All are heavily armored, seeing as they are part of the ship.

And I need your relevant schticks to the scenario. Colby's should be fairly obvious.

Oh, well, that's fun...

Not looking to destroy things at the moment, though, just getting out of here. We can worry about tracking the ship later.

Orthodox Guard, Perfect Strike, and Riposte, I suppose.

Alright then!

The anti-personnel blasters are disgustingly poor shots against your defense, but Colby is less blessed. He takes 5 damage from a particularly decent hit. Those things are fast and always act ahead of you.

The turret does not decide to unleash on you this turn. Instead, it aims just past you... and destroys the supports on the entrance to the docking bay. It is in the hands of a sentient attacker, not running off of sensors, and so is a much better shot. The entrance is destroyed and you cannot get out that way!

Ahhhh, crap.

Are there any other exits that we can use?

Not on this end of the docking bay that you can see.

I forgot to get Colby's shot in! He rolls incredibly well, his heavy pistols thundering in the bay, but the turret he picks out is very well armored and he only inflicts a point of damage to it.

You also moved away from the ship another turn, as you had been going for that exit. The turret is slow and fires last.

Damn.

Well, then, Rianna would prefer to make the turrets a bit less of a threat for the moment. She'll Dash in (if it's needed to get close) to the ship and slash at one of the turrets with her lightsaber.

Poising to run in against the ship, Rianna Dashes forward! The turrets target her, but only score a hit for 3 damage. Rianna promptly lops one of the anti-personnel blasters off of its hinges and it hits the ground with a metallic crunch. Colby fires again but can't breach the armor.

The main turret does not want to accidentally blast the ship in trying to get at Rianna, and so goes for Colby. It rolls five successes and Colby tries to throw himself clear but fails the roll. 9 damage from the turret tearing a chunk out of the ground!

The small trader now lifts off of the ground!

Rianna is going to try and slice the other turret off before the ship gets too high off the ground.
